I’ve been a lot more diligent about taking pictures of my outfits when I don’t look like a complete mess, so hopefully there will be more “What I’m Wearing” posts coming.

This is probably one of my favorite categories.

Bluetooth Disco Light

My boyfriend’s birthday was at the beginning of October and I decided that since we couldn’t do much, I was going to go all out. I organized an outdoor dinner with a small group of people, but that was just one part. The big surprise was the night time dance party! I turned our apartment into “Club Covid” with this ridiculous disco light (which is also a speaker) and the two of us had a mini dance party. It was short and ridiculous, but so much fun. The disco light also works as a speaker and syncs up the lights with the speaker, which was an added bonus. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Gold Desk Organizer

I’ve fully accepted that I’ll be working at home for a while, so I’ve been picking up more pieces for my work from home situation. One piece that I love is this gold desk organizer. It’s a super simple touch, but it looks so good. It also works as a great catch all for everything laying around my desk.

Acrylic Paint Set

Uhhh why did I get this? Well I decided that I wanted to try painting my own needlepoint canvas! My cousin had a baby back in June and I couldn’t quite find the right canvas to make for her. So I decided to paint my own instead! It was a lot of fun and it actually turned out really cute. I also finally got my cricut, so soon I’ll be able to print canvases from there and paint them in, which I’m SO excited for.

Folding Sewing Table

Speaking of crafts…I also got a sewing table! One of the things I brought back from Wisconsin in August was my sewing machine. but I didn’t really have a place to use it. So my mom helped me find this sewing table that folds up into a really nice side table. It’ll also be great for storing all of my crafts! But before I start sewing again, I have to get my sewing machine cleaned.

Organizing and Redecorating My Living Room

One of my big projects the last few weeks has been to completely reorganize my living room. My living room has two big problems that has become really apparent to me while I’ve been stuck here over the last seven months.

First, I’m over some of the decorating. I’ve had the same pillows, blankets, decorations for almost five years now. Probably closer to six for most of them. When you’re staring at the same things for that long, it gets old to look at.

Second, my living room has become a dumping ground for everything. Since basically everything comes through here, about 50 to 75% of things get dumped here. Then it stays here and that all builds up. My boyfriend hates clutter and this drives him pretty crazy. If he had things his way, everything would just get thrown out.

So my project right now has been to fix up things while organizing them at the same time.

While I’m not going to replace big furniture (I definitely don’t need a new couch), there are easy decorating changes that I can make. I’ve purchase new pillow covers for my current pillows and bought some new small decorative pillows for the couch. I also bought new pots for my fake plants that were all over the room, in addition to purchase a new center piece of fake flowers for the coffee table. Baskets to act as catch-alls around the room are also a saving grace. I have one that stores my workout equipment, one for blankets, and a bunch in other nooks. They look SO much better than just having stuff.

I still have more to go, but I’m loving how much better it looks so far.

What I’m Reading, Watching, and Listening To

The Bridgerton Series

Holy romance novels! I wrote about the first book in my October Reading List post, but I started this series after I heard it was coming to Netflix on December 25th. I LOVE it. It’s such a fun series set in the early 1800s England and centers around the fictional Bridgerton family. They’re a wealthy family in London who rules the social scene. Each book focuses on a child in the family. I’m only three books in (there are five) and they’re so good. I’ve been listening to them on audio too, which has made them even more fun. If you’re interested, I would suggest trying to read at least the first one before the series comes out, since I’m assuming the series will focus on the first book.

Emily In Paris

I swear, everyone is talking about this show! I’m only a few episodes in and I can kind of understand why. It’s a very good show to just zone out and watch, but it’s also really peppy. But it also brings up a lot of questions. I’m going to save my full judgement until I finish, but I’d love to hear people’s thoughts. But please no spoilers since I haven’t finished yet.

HGTV

I mentioned my love of Good Bones in the last update and I’m still completely in love with the show. I have only one season left and I’m dreading finishing it since season six doesn’t come out until next summer. So I’ve been testing out other shows to see what I like. The problem is that I don’t like when they bring the families in. I just like watching the renovation, which makes HGTV really hard to find a show sometimes. So far the one I’ve liked the most has been A Very Brady Renovation. But I’m still looking and there are a lot of shows to try!

Fall Baking

It’s finally fall baking season! Apple cider donuts, pumpkin spice scones, apple everything, pumpkin everything….I’m just so excited and so happy. I’ve even ordered this this cook book for more fall baking ideas! Right now, I think I may make pumpkin donuts after work just because I was so excited.
