What Do You Wear to a Friendsgiving?

November certainly isn’t my favorite month (it’s always seemed like a weird kind of hump to me). But when I got older, I discovered one of the best things about November when you’re an adult: Friendsgivings. Now, Thanksgiving isn’t just at the end of the month. You get to have it at least once leading up to then with your Friends.

Of course though, that raises the question: What do you wear to a Friendsgiving?

J.Crew Turtle Neck (Less Expensive) / Old Navy Suede Skirt / Old Navy Tights / Target dv Ankle Boots / Similar Crossbody Bag

I’m going to help you out with that on the blog this week. (Plus a gift guide or two.)

Today, we’re going the route of a slightly nicer Friendsgiving. Not a super fancy one, but maybe you want to look a little nicer? This would be the perfect option. It’s an outfit that’s surprisingly comfortable, but still looks like you tried.

So let’s break this down a bit.

First, the black tights and ankle boots. I don’t know what it is or why, but the combination of the two always seem to make my outfit step up. It also just makes me feel a little more badass. Especially since the heels give me extra height, but they’re thicker, so no added pain.

In most situations I would get nervous about this skirt being too short. But, the tights help calm that down. Also, pairing it with a turtleneck makes the whole look just a tad more conservative. If you’re going to do a black turtleneck and black tights and booties though, pick a fun skirt. Just something that will stand out against the black background and not fad into it. If it’s a pattern where the base pattern is black, put it back into your closet and go for something else. If patterns aren’t your thing, go for a single bold color like I chose to here.

Just pick something, embrace it, and go forward!

Either way, you’re getting pie so it’s going to be awesome.

The next outfit coming your way will be what to wear to the Friendsgiving that’s a bit more relaxed.

Also, would you prefer the holiday travel outfit before Thanksgiving or after Thanksgiving? Is it more important for December travelling?
