Would it be fair to say May went by in a fast and furious blur? I think so. After all, one second I was putting together my look for our April Two Ways post, and next think you know, I’m putting up our May post!
The funny thing about these pictures is that I actually took them in the middle of March! We had a surge of warm weather and an 80 degree day, so I busted this outfit out for a Saturday adventure. Of course after that the temperature dipped back down and it was back to my sweater jacket. But now the temperature is back up and I’m ready to pull out this jacket again.

What’s Blogger Style Two Ways?
Since this month flew by so quickly, let’s just do a quick refresher of what exactly Blogger Style Two Ways is (for the the people in the back). Every month, myself and Anne (of Anne in Residence) pick a piece that’s hanging out in both of our closets and we both style it! But we keep how we’ve style the piece a secret from each other. This way, you get to see multiple ways to style one clothing item and Anne and I are just as surprised with the results as you are!
How To Style Your Tie-Waist T-Shirt
This month, we decided to choose the J.Crew Factory Tie-Waist T-shirt. Now, I kind of love these shirts.. The fabric is comfortable, they come in so many colors, and they’re super easy to style. It’s not hard to see why Anne and I picked them (and why we both own them (in multiple colors!).
Knotted in Front
Now, the obvious way to wear this top is with the knot just hanging out in front, over whatever bottoms you’re wearing. It’s super simple and it gives you a laid back look. It looks great with a pair of ripped jeans or shorts.
Tucked In
Now, this is why I really love this top. Sometimes I just need a crewneck top and I can’t find one on hand. Luckily, this top doubles as a crewneck! I’ll just do a “front tuck” with the ties and then let the rest of the top lay loose around my skirt or pants. My tee then just looks like a basic one, giving me a two for one! It also looks a little bit more put together and less casual.
With Skirts
Knotting your tees is also a lifesaver when it comes to some skirts. With a few of them, when you tuck your skirt in, it can make your skirt a little lumpy or see though. But with a tie-front, it gives you a bit of the tucked in look without the lumps or extra layers.
More Outfit Ideas
I told you I have a number of tees like these from J.Crew Factory! Check out how I’ve styled some of them in the past!
