My month(ish) of travel is finally over! If you’ve been following on snapchat (danaerinw), you’ve gotten a little insight, but if not, I’ll help catch you up.
A few weeks ago I got to head home for a long weekend to celebrate Passover with my family. It was a lot of cooking and getting things done (like meeting up with my accountant), but I also got the chance to hang out with my parents and friends, so there was nothing wrong with that.
After visit, I had a few days off. By “off” I mean I was back in DC, prepping for my company’s conference, working, getting to see Shonda Rhimes speak (!!!), and then pack up for my next trip. I then headed off for week-long trip.
I first headed to NYC to hang out with my parents. My parents actually live in Milwaukee, but they went to NYC for the weekend so my dad could do the bike the boroughs ride. While he was doing that, my mom and I wandered Soho, visited the Children’s Museum of Manhattan with Whitney, and ate a lot of cannolis.
On Monday, I then hopped on a train up to Connecticut for work for a week. The week was crazy, nonstop, and tiring, but so rewarding. There were a lot of things I had been working on since last year, so it was great to see it come together.
I finally got home Saturday night and the first thing I did? Grocery shop. I don’t know about you, but after a week of restaurants and hotel food, I wanted nothing more than to only eat healthy, home cooked foods. Maybe that’s a little weird but whatever. I also got the chance to sleep/stay in my own bed for a good 12 hours, which was amazing.
So now you’re all caught up! It’s back to work and daily duties for me, but I’m excited to just be in DC for a while and explore in my own city again.
