Friday Night Links: The Friendship Circle
Do Something Good
When quarantine started, my dad realized that he was going to be bored. Both of his part-time jobs were put on hold an if there’s one thing I know about my dad, it’s that he hates being bored. Luckily for him, a volunteer opportunity came up.
The Friendship Circle
The Friendship Circle is a cafe, bakery, and art studio that provides assistance and support for individuals with special needs. They also provide support to individuals and families struggling with isolation, addiction, and other family related crises.
Their art studio is so beautiful and the food and drinks in the cafe are absolutely delicious (we stopped by while I was in Wisconsin).
So what does this have to do with my dad?
Well, when Covid hit, he found a way to give back. Since people couldn’t exactly come to the bakery and cafe anymore, they began to do deliveries. But they obviously needed people to start making those deliveries. My dad stepped up to the plate and started using his mornings to drive around and dropping off food for families around the city. The Friendship Circle is fairly new, so it was important to find a way to keep it open however people could.
Now here’s where you come in.
In September, my dad will be participating in a bike ride to raise money for The Friendship Circle. I’m going to make my own separate donation, but I’ve also decided to donate 50% of whatever I make through Beautycounter in August to the ride as well. Beautycounter has a boatload of promotions and new products happening this month, so now is the perfect time to try them out or pick up that item you’ve been debating buying. If you need any advice on what to get, feel free to send me an email as well, I’m happy to help out!
Now go start shopping to help support a great cause!
