It’s the weekend before thanksgiving and everyone is going into full travel mode (myself included)! One of my favorite things about traveling is that it’s my opportunity to have a few uninterrupted hours of reading time available to me. It’s the best, isn’t it? Since I’m sure you’ll want something good to read also for your next trip, here are my top recommendations for travel books.
But, similar to last year, I have some rules in place for picking travel books:
1. No books that involve plane crashes.
Trust me, you don’t want to read a book that starts with “He didn’t know that in 16 minutes the plane would crash.” Nope. The books that come to mind are great books, but you don’t want to spend your flight thinking about that.
2. They have to be engaging.
That I’d rather miss my stop than put it down kind of book.
3. Long…enough.
One of the options below is epic-ally long, one is not. I don’t know how long you’re traveling or how fast you read, but choose appropriately. It’s okay if you’re not done when you arrive, it just means you get to settle back in when you have to head back home!
PS all of these books are about or involve travel in some way!
PPS So many of these books are on sale this week at Amazon, so pick them up before the prices go back up!
The Woman on the Orient Express
Queen of the Tearling
Outlander
(Warning: This book will make you want to hop off of your plane and get on one to Scotland.)
