Since I spent some time at Talbots when I was shopping for yesterday’s post, I thought it was only fair to do a round of Talbots reviews! In addition to jeans, I also tried on a few tops that I wanted to share with you. Here we go!
Talbots Floral Jacquard Crewneck Top, SP
Next to the polka dot top, this might have been my favorite top. It’s a perfect upgrade to your basic tee. The fabric is thicker and embroidered. I also loved the little bow detail in the back. Now, in terms of fit, I’m having a bit of a panic moment because I can’t remember if I grabbed this from the petites department or not.I’m almost positive it’s a small petite….but hopefully my mom will remember and chime in in the comments.
Verdict: Didn’t buy, but planning to!
Talbots Back-Tie Tee – Bradbury Stripes, PP
I was really hoping this top would work, but it was a roller coaster to get to. Why? Well this top runs big. The regular XS was huge. The petite small was also pretty big. The extra small petite (PP) finally fit pretty well, but was over all looser than I expected. I debated with this one, but I don’t really like when boat neck tops do the fold over thing on the shoulder. It’s a really weird picky thing, but if that doesn’t bother you, then this top is a fun option. Also, there’s a bow in the back.
Verdict: No go.
Talbots Rhinestone Flowers & Garden Insect Stripe Shirt, XS
This top reminded me so much of last year’s J.Crew top, I couldn’t resist trying it on. This top was true to size and the fabric was great. It was that really nice, kind of stretchy button up fabric that you know will fit well. I liked it, but I also know that I have too many button up shirts and don’t wear them often enough.
Verdict: No go.
That’s it for my Talbots reviews for now. But after finding all of these cute tops, I think I’m going to have to go back to their store again.
