Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I normally read the books before starting a tv show or movie, but in this case, I found myself itching for a new show to watch and after hearing all of the good things about Outlander, I couldn’t wait. I’m holding off on starting the second season, but I figured that now was the perfect time to start the first book.
For those of you who haven’t heard about this series before, it’s about a woman named Claire who accidentally time travels from England post World War 2 to 18th century Scotland where she falls in love with the super hunky Jamie (I think that may be the first time I’ve described someone as super hunky, but trust me it fits).
My Brilliant Friend (The Neapolitan Novels #1) by Elena Ferrante
I don’t know why I’ve been holding off on diving into this series, but it’s finally time. The library is being annoying about getting me the ebook, so I may have to give in and buy one of the books, but I have a feeling it’ll be worth in.
A quick synopsis: “The series follows the lives of two perceptive and intelligent girls, Elena and Raffaella, from childhood to adulthood as they try to create lives for themselves amidst the violent and stultifying culture of their home– a poor neighborhood on the outskirts of Naples, Italy.” – via
Alice and Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
read by Scarlet Johansson
Doesn’t this sound like the best thing to listen to when you’re exhausted after a long day and you want to relax? Since I love Alice and Wonderland and Scarlett’s voice, I have the feeling that this will be the perfect combination.
I have a feeling that these plus a few podcasts will take up all of my traveling time, but I’m also open to any suggestions of books that you may have! I feel like I need to throw something a little lighter into the mix, so I’m happy to hear some suggestions if you have them!
