Styling Myself and My Home

While I generally style myself for this blog, I’m currently in the midst of styling the rooms for my new apartment. The move in date is rapidly approaching and I couldn’t be more excited. In fact, so excited that I’ll probably be posting a few decor posts in the upcoming future.
Despite all of my excitement and decorating ideas, I’m falling flat on what to do with the bathroom. I have ideas for my bedroom and living room (if you haven’t noticed from my rapid pinning lately), but in terms of the bathroom, I’m stuck.
To give you a better idea, here it is:
(Bathroom in all of its blah glory)
I would love to do a gray + yellow color scheme for the bathroom, however I face a few limitations:

I can’t change any of the cabinets or tiling flooring.
No painting the walls – I looked into temporary wall paper, but I feel like the humidity from the shower would cause it to peel off.

No natural light.
There are a few pros to my situation though:
I’m not coming to this space with any already bought shower curtains, bathroom mats, etc. so I don’t have any items I have to style around for this space.
I am open to trying different things or color combinations with the space, but with the brown cabinets and beige walls, I really feel stuck.
So give me your best design suggestions, items to purchase, or stores to look at! I’m open to any new ideas here and ways to play with this space!

  1. I LOVE the lights in the second picture. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I LOVE the subway tile in the second photo.

  3. LOVE the black and white

  4. I love changing up my bathroom. I sponge pained the walls a neutral taupe-ish color a few years ago, so I an able to change up the color scheme whenever the mood strikes!!

  5. I think it will be nice to just add accessories, like flowers or paintings with the color scheme you had in mind. Your current bathroom already has the subtle "yellow" part going on, just add other colors to make the yellow pop. I recommend adding the shower curtain and some mats and lamps, I guess 🙂

My mom sponge painted so many of our house's walls growing up, it was so easy and fun!
