How could I not do a Small Business Gift Guide for Small Business Saturday? I love so many of my local businesses and I try to do whatever I can to support them (especially after as seeing so many small businesses close these last few years). So make sure that while you’re shopping this year to pick up some gifts from your favorite small businesses!
Small Business Gift Guide
I couldn’t really divide up this list by prices, so I attempted to do it by category. Enjoy!
Clothing
Edited Pieces
One of my favorite bloggers, Jean, started an online shop specifically for petites! They only release a few items at a time, but it’s such high quality and the pieces look so good. This wrap is at the top of my list!
Sarah Flint
My love for Sarah Flint knows no bounds. The shoes are expensive, but the quality is so amazing. Plus, comfortable heels? It sounds insane, but it’s true. They’re so comfortable that you can wear them throughout the day and night.
Lake Pajamas
I LOVE Lake Pajamas. They’re so soft and I feel like I actually have my life together when I’m wearing matching pajamas. They have so many different options of different colors and patterns, you’ll find something for everyone.
PS Right now everything is 25% off!
Read Receipts
This person takes popular memes and turns them into funny sweatshirts. She also has a number of book related ones, so you know I’m a find. This Pride and Prejudice is one is one of my favorites!
Inkwell Threads
Can you tell I love sweatshirts? How can I deny one that declares my love of books?
Books
East City Books
This has been one of my favorite bookshops since I moved to DC. It’s two stories of amazing-ness and they totally lean into their being in DC with a dedicated DC section (but with fun things, not just political books). They also host a number of great book clubs, which they’ve moved online since COVID-19 has started.
Food
Deux
I absolutely LOVE this cookie dough. It’s safe to eat whether it’s raw or cooked and it’s so much better for you than regular store bought cookie dough. Right now you can get up to 30% off everything AND you can use my link for an extra $5 off.
In case you’re curious, my favorites are space brownie and s’mores!
Capitol Jill Baking
Do you live in DC and love bread? Or just any baked good? Then you need to sign up for Capitol Jill’s mailing list. She’s the sourdough queen and makes delicious treats that you can pick up every week. I’m absolutely obsessed with her bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and just about everything else she makes!
PS Jill does not have anything for sale today, BUT sign up for her mailing list so you can place an order during her next drop!
Ice Cream Jubilee
Yes, I’m listing an ice cream store here. But you know what? They have the best ice cream in DC and they ship nationwide (they’ve also been slowly adding more Whole Foods stores as well). Do yourself a favor and order some. I PROMISE you will not regret it for a second.
Home Goods
Sara Fitz
The first word that comes to mind when I describe Sara Fitz is dreamy. Then maybe New England Beach. She has a number of beautiful drawings (flowers, baskets, a striped shirt, that iconic LL Bean bag) that she’s then made into everything you house needs. Including needlepoint canvases!
Molly Hatch
I had to include Molly Hatch! Why? Well I’ve been in love with her ever since I discovered her “Something Good” mug! This year I finally decided to order her “Something Good” pie pan. I love all of her other pieces and I think one day I may have to order a full set of dishes.
Chappywrap Blankets
I have a Chappywrap blanket problem. I’ll admit it. They’re so soft and I love cuddling up in them. My dog love them too (she steals every single blanket I buy). They’re are so many colors and sizes that you won’t regret adding one to your collection.
House of Noa
I’ve been using my yoga mat from them for years now and I’m still obsessed. Next on my list, a kitchen mat! With how thick the yoga mat is, I can only imagine how comfortable the kitchen mats are.
Letterfolk
Letterfolk became famous for their letter boards, but these tile mats are truly amazing. You can make whatever pattern or design you want and they come in so many colors!
Needlepoint
Morgan Julia Designs
Morgan Julia was one of the first designers I came across and remains one of my favorites. She really embraces the New England vibes (with her sail boats and lobster roll canvases), but then throws in some fun with her chill pill canvases). She’s also the queen of needleminders, like her bar cart needleminder here!
Lycette Designs
Lycette Designs has some of the prettiest designs and right now they’re having a sale for 30% off select items. Stock up on your favorites now!
Other aka I couldn’t think of a category
Rosery92
When your favorite workout instructor (hi Katherine!)has a clean beauty brand, that means you have to try it! I just ordered her most popular product, the Tea Oil, and I can’t wait to try it out.
Obe Fitness
Speaking of my favorite workout instructor, I have to share the workout app that I use, Obe. It has every type of workout class you can think of and classes that can be 5 minutes or 60. My favorite classes are sculpt and yoga, but I’ve also trying their strength classes as well.
Small Packages
This company is based on the best idea. Is your friend going through something terrible? Or do you want to celebrate a happy occasion? Send them a small package! These are fun little boxes fill with unique items from different small businesses. These packages come at great pices, but right now you can use code HOLIDAY for 20% off!
Hopefully this small business gift guide gives you some new businesses to check out this year! Don’t forget to check out my other gift guide: gift guide for book lovers, gift guide for your guys, and my guide for parents and in-laws.
