One thing that I haven’t really talked about on here is that about a year ago I started getting into diffusing oils in my house. I love diffusing lavender to help me fall asleep sometimes or eucalyptus when I’m really congested (I even got my boyfriend on board with that one!). I know that there’s a lot more that you can do with oils, but I haven’t really gone that far into it. Which means that I was fully on board with testing out Simply Earth’s subscription essential oil box.
What is Simply Earth?
Simply Earth is an essential oil subscription box. But what really sets it apart from other boxes is that not only do you get a set of four oils with each box, but you also get a set of recipes and the bottles to mix them.
What are the recipes? Do you eat them?
One thing that’s really interesting about oils is that you don’t have to use one on it’s own. You can actually combine them for completely new uses or mix them with coconut or Almond oil to create balms and creams. These recipe cards explain what the recipe will be used for (for example, cleaning up a dog protein spill). It then goes on to give you the recipe: how much of each oil to use, what to mix it with, and then how to apply it!
The recipes are pretty great and I love that they give you the bottles to put it in. This means you don’t have to go out of your way to buy extra things! Everything is right there in your box (including labels for your finished recipes!).
Bonus Box
Plus, Simply Earth also sent me a bonus box (you can purchase one on your own too). These include additional bottles and labels in case I wanted to make more recipes or I had leftover product.
Themed Boxes
What’s also fun is that each monthly box has a different theme for their oils and recipes. May’s box was pet themed. The oils that were included were Peace and Quiet, Citronella, Juniper Berry and Ginger. It’s recipes were, of course, pet themed. They were all about calming your pet, fixing itchy skin, odors, or creating a tick and mosquito color. All actually useful things!
I did want to mention that typically you do have to be careful using essential oils around pets. There are some oils that can be harmful to pets, but others can be great. Obviously the ones that can be harmful were NOT included in this box.
April’s box was cleaning themed. It had recipes for removing stains, dish-washing detergent, and surfacing cleaning solution (to name a few). You’re able to buy the previous
