I really like returning things. There, I’ve said it. I’m that weird person that I’m COMPLETELY okay with having to return things by store or mail. Why? Well it means not only do I not have to spend that money, but I know that that dress or top I was lusting over just didn’t fit me right. Its much easier to stop online stalking a dress when you know that it isn’t right for you.
On the bright side, this order had a few misses, but quite a few hits that I was actually really happy with! Also, you’ve actually seen a few of these pieces already since this was all from my May budget.
As always, too many pictures, so everything is after the jump!
I’ve been watching this tank and debating if I wanted to use my gift card for it. I finally took the plunge and I was pretty pleased with this tank. The material (Woven polyester atop rayon knit) was lighter and silkier than I was expecting. There was also a plain white layer in between the lemon tank and the blue pattern. I appreciated this because the yellow layer being see through wasn’t effect by anything. Also, for my fellow shorties, this tank is a little long (as you can see from my shorts). They do offer petite sizing, but as of right now all of the petite sizes online are sold out. I may call around to see if any of the stores have it in stock, but over all the xs works.
Verdict: Keep
You know how much I love my Bobeau wraps (and if not, follow me on twitter). I have this wrap in tan and striped, but I love seeing what new colors are on sale. This color was marked down to $19.99, so I knew I had to jump.
Verdict: Keep
I wanted these to work, I really did. However, as you can see, the length was still too long for me. I looked for the petite version, but it appeared to be sold out on Nordstrom’s website. The waist band was also too big. You can’t see it as well in this picture, but I could have easily pulled it out another inch or two. Had these jeans still been available in petite, that may have solved all of my sizing issues.
Verdict: Return
Due to the wrinkles and creasing from being shipped, this top looks much sloppier in this picture than it would normally. It’s also a little long, but since I would generally wear this top tucked in or with jeans, that shouldn’t be a problem.
Verdict: Keep
Topshop V-Neck Tank (Left: Red – 4, Right: Green – 2)
This top was a little odd or mislabeled. Why? Well the red, which was the larger size, was too tight in the bust, while the green fit perfectly. I’m not quite sure what happened there, but I did love how the green one fit. The shirt is also cut into a similar V in the back, giving a little more detail to the tank.
Verdict: Keep the green, return the red.
Topshop 3D Stripe Crop Top (Black – XS)
This top was comfortable, however, it hit me at an odd length. The cut was a little too long for me to pair it with skirts but also too short for me to feel comfortable wearing it with jeans. Also, while the black is okay, reviewers have noted that the white and pink were fairly sheer, which I could easily see.
Verdict: Return
Old Navy just keeps killing it right now. This dress has been popping up all over the blogger world, so when I saw that I could use my Old Navy rewards to get it extremely marked down, I clearly jumped at the chance. It is a little more boxy that I would normally go for, but I think that will work well for more humid days.
Verdict: Keep
Old Navy Swing Dress (XSP – Sold out, Similar with sleeves)
I got this dress in black and cobalt and as soon as I tried the black one on, I knew I was going to keep it. This dress is seriously comfortable and I can see why it sold out so quickly. They do have a version with sleeves though and swing dresses are popping up all over the internet. Check out my post tomorrow for more of my favorite swing dresses around the internet.
Verdict: Keep all the colors
Old Navy High-Neck Maxi (XSP)
Again, a maxi that feels like pajamas and I almost kept it for that reason alone. However, the dress did run about an inch or two longer than I prefer my maxi dresses (I like when they rest on the top of my foot, barely skimming the floor).
Verdict: Return
Bought on a whim, this cotton tank just looked like a fun piece that would be perfect for summer. Within seconds of trying it on, I knew that it was a keeper. Between the high neck in front and the low cutout in back, this tank is a fun twist on your basic summer tank.
Thanks all for now, check out previous review posts!
