Since I was out of town or busy for the past few weeks, I had quite a few packages to sort through when I finally had time to sit down. In fact, I had so many pieces to review that I’m going to have to divide this up into two posts!
Since this is pretty picture/text heavy, all of the reviews are after the jump! Also, apologies for the picture quality, these were tank on my iPhone.
Lou & Grey Checkered Shirt Dress (XXS Petite)
This dress quickly sold out in my normal size online, so I decided to try one size lower. This normally works out since Lou & Grey use to run large, but no wins this time. The dress was a little too tight in the bust and hips for my liking. Also, the dress looks more white/blue online, but it’s actually white and grey.
Verdict: Return
This dress just didn’t win me over. I was expecting a printed fabric, but it was a light (and SEE THROUGH) embroidered fabric. Sorry, but I’m too old for a see through dress.
Verdict: Return
Loft Striped Crossover Cutout Back Dress XS Petite
As you can tell from the picture, the waist hit me at a place that would normally work, but because of where the seam was it emphasized my hips more than I wanted it to. I would say though that I loved how the straps crossed in the back and the tiny cut out.
This tee was so comfortable, but the color washed me out too much. I would highly recommend this top though!
Verdict: Return, but you should get it!
I went back and forth on this top a lot, but in the end since I couldn’t make a decision, I figured that I should send it back. If I 100% loved it, it wouldn’t be a hard decision, right? The material however was very soft and stretchy, so it still gets a “highly recommended” from me.
Verdict: Return, but you should get it!
Linen Belted Shift Dress (XS Petite)
I was hoping that if I ordered the petite sizing, I wouldn’t feel like I was drowning in fabric. Unfortunately, there was a little too much fabric. The belting helped, but it wasn’t the effect I was looking for.
Verdict: Return
I absolutely loved this top, except for one problem, the bust was too tight. Otherwise it was loose enough that it would be perfect for DC humid summers.
Verdict: Return, but potentially exchange for one size up
Mng by Mango Tank (XS)
I was hoping this tank would work out, but I hated how the straps looked like they were cinched or tied together. Also, as you can see, there was a seam down the middle which looked good online, but didn’t come off as well in person.
Verdict: Return
Mng by Mango Dress (size 2)
So this dress was great except for one thing, because of my hips, it sat funny and poofed out around my stomach (see side view). I can see this looking great on someone who has a straighter body type. Verdict: Return
Factory Cross Back Tank (Size 0)
I went back and forth on this tank too. I loved how it sat in front and the cut out in the back. Unfortunately, the longer I stared at it, the more paranoid I got about the cut out (I have no idea why). I ended up sending it back, but based on it’s great cut and fit, I still give it a highly recommend.
Verdict: Return, but you should get it!
J.Crew Factory Flare Skirt (Size 0)
After getting the navy skirt, I was completely on board to get more colors. When I saw this skirt was restocked in pink, I decided to give it a go. However, they weren’t kidding about the neon part. This skirt was BRIGHT. That wouldn’t always scare me away, but it just wasn’t calling to me.
Verdict: Return, but you should get it!
J.Crew Factory Racerback Tank (Size 0)
I ordered this tank back in April but they cancelled my order because it was randomly out of stock. Then it disappeared from the entire site. I started hunting for a replacement, but I couldn’t seem to find anything I loved as much as this tank. Then magically one day, it was restocked! I jumped on it and I loved it.
Verdict: Keep!
Joe’s Jeans – Stay Spotless c/o Shopbop (Size 25)
After seeing these on Hallie’s blog, I was super intrigued. I was also conviently looking for a pair of full length white jeans. I still had some Shopbop credit so I decided to try these out. They turned out to be really comfortable. the only downside was that they were about 3 inches too long (remember, I’m really short). However, I’m also use to this and it doesn’t bother me too much. However, they weren’t see through and really comfortable.
Verdict: Keep
Phew! Part one is done! Look out for part two soon!
