Shopping Reviews, Vol.13 with Try.com

You all know that I love my online shopping, that’s not anything new. But one of the things I don’t love is seeing my Mint.com account constantly telling me that I’m over my shopping budget when I know that I’m going to be returning a bunch of things. Enter, Try.com. Try lets you order things from different sites without having to charge your card. You simply order the pieces with the Try.com button on a site and if you like it when you try it on at home, then you let the site know and they’ll charge your credit card. If you don’t like it, then you just pack it up and ship it back for free.
It’s a pretty great concept that I’m not sure why other sites haven’t done yet. After hearing about it, I knew that I wanted to use it to try on a few pieces that I’ve been debating. Try.com graciously bumped up the number of pieces I could “try” on for this Shopping Reviews post. Please note though, that is all I’ve received in exchange for this post and all opinions in it are my own.
While this skirt looked adorable in the picture, I just couldn’t get the wrap portion to sit correctly. In addition to that, the wrap part wasn’t sewed down, so I was nervous about the flat staying closed.
Verdict: Return
Right: ASOS A-Line Mini Skirt with Scallop Hem (US 4)
I have a thing for these scalloped skirts, if you haven’t noticed. This purple one was too tight though, so I almost immediately decided to send it back.
Verdict: Return

This skirt fit much better than the purple, but I just wasn’t sold. Unlike the Topshop version of this skirt, the material is thinner and therefore has a harder time sitting and holding the scallop detailing.
Verdict: Return

Originally I decided to send this skirt back since I wasn’t sure where I would wear it. But looking at it now, I’m kind of regretting that decision. The color will not only go with a lot of pieces, but the material was smooth and incredibly comfortable. I think I may reorder this skirt.
Verdict: Originally returned, may reorder.

I wanted this jacket to work, I really did. It actually fit much better right out of the bag than most jackets I’ve tried on. I also love how the coat has a skirted bottom instead of the regular straight bottom. A few notes about this jacket: The material is thick and will keep you warm in the winter. The toggles are not real, but the jacket instead relies on snaps. Also, this jacket does have a hood which is generally a win. Overall though, I decided that this jacket had a little too much fabric and felt overwhelming on my smaller frame.
Verdict: Return

This top is a little sheer, but it’s a nice twist on a plain white tee. Since I’m a huge fan of tees and they’re my go to, I thought this would be a fun way to mix it up. Please note, this top is a linen blend, not a cotton based shirt.
Verdict: Keep
