After this Wednesday’s Wishlist, I decided it was time to really take a deep dive into SheIn and learn more about their sizing. I was prepared to order the pieces from their website, but then I discovered that they also carry some of their products on Amazon. The perk to this is that you get to skip the three plus weeks of waiting for it to ship and I believe I got free shipping on most of the items. So in terms of ordering, it was fairly easy (and is fairly easy through the site).
As you’ll see below, I also returned about half of my order. I was hoping it would be free returns through Amazon, but unfortunately, I had to go through Amazon to contact SheIn to request a return. Amazon makes this process fairly painless, but I did have to email with SheIn to explain why I wanted to return the piece. Luckily, they approved my request to return and I just had to paid for shipping back (which was only about $6, so not that bad).
So before I leave you with the individual pieces and my reviews, here’s my conclusion: I wouldn’t discourage shopping the site, but be wary of sizing, size up, and expect to pay for return shipping.
Stripe Dress with Front Pockets (Medium)
For one of the first items I’ve received by SheIn , I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I sized up to a medium (I normally wear a XS or S) and the fit was close to perfect.
Verdict: Keep
White Lace Crop Top (One Size)
I’ve seen a few girls wear a similar top and I was jealous that Forever 21 had already sold out of that top, so finding it was a win. I was impressed that the “one size” actually worked out well for me, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it if you wear a larger size than me. It was fairly fitted, so I can’t see how they would expect it to fit on a larger chest. Also, this top zipped up the back, which generally annoys me. It’s difficult to get the zipper to lay flat on less expensive items and they tend to fold out. Finally, this top was actually made of two pieces. A sheer underneath piece and then the lace over lay. Please take note that those are cut outs in the lace and the underlay fabric is fairly sheer.
Verdict: Return.
White Black Graphic Print Midi Skirt (One size)
Another item I’ve been on the hunt for., but I wasn’t going to expect the one size to work out. However, it fit snugly around my waist and managed to hit perfectly below my knee. Similar to the crop top, while this worked on a petite person, but I would be nervous on recommending it. Also, my apologies, but this skirt badly needs to be ironed or steamed before it can be warned. The creases from the packaging made a serious different in how the dress laid.
Verdict: Keep
Stripe Tee Dress (Medium)
Similar to the dress with pockets, I sized up for a better fit. Now, this dress also fit well, but it was a little looser in the waist and hips. Because of that, I felt a little like I was wearing pajamas. I decided to pass on this one sine I had already decided to keep the earlier dress.
Verdict: Return
Long Sleeve Faux Wrap Blouse (Size L)
Not much to say about this shirt than what you can already see. I decided to go two sizes up from my normal size out of fear that my arms would be too tight in a medium. As you can clearly see, that was a very incorrect assumption. The large was much too large. Also, this top was fairly sheer. If this had been a smaller size, I may have considered keeping it since I could just layer a tank underneath, but I couldn’t keep the top in it’s current state.
Verdict: Return
