The problem with taking pictures in bulk and only sharing outfit pictures once a week is that sometimes I feel out of sync with the pictures I have. For example, these pictures. It I took these pictures about two weeks before we went into quarantine and I LOVED the outfit when we took them. I thought it could be a fun mix between a casual Friday/date night (yes, I have outfits that can transition that way, as weird as it sounds). The snakeskin mules are fun (and comfortable) and the bells sleeves are fabulous.
But now I’m staring at these pictures wondering what the heck I want to write about with these pictures. So instead I decided to give a little “Week Whatever of Quarantine update.” I’ve loved reading other people’s updates, so I decided sharing my own might be fun as well.

In General
I want to say I’ve been okay, but the first two and a half weeks were rough. My body just felt out of whack and I wasn’t sleeping well. My sleep hasn’t really gotten much better, but at least I’m feeling better overall.
I’ve also adjusted fairly well to my new schedule. I like that I’m able to work out in the mornings now before work and I don’t feel forced to have to do it at the end of the day.
In terms of staying in my apartment, it’s actually kind of funny, because I’ve been joking to people that I’ve been preparing all of my life for this. Most of the time I would happily choose to stay home anyways, so this is just kind of a continuation of that. But in the past I would always try to get some sort of socialization in at least one of week in some way, so it’s a little weird to be missing that. All in all though, I have no problem staying in to read, needlepoint, and watch tv.
Fun Topics
Missing the Most
I thought it might have been going to the movie theater, but no, I think it’s actually playing with babies and getting to pet people’s adorable dogs on the sidewalks. I didn’t realize how much I was actually missing them until I saw pictures of my co-worker’s kid and I realized how much I wanted to be able to babysit again!
Weird Purchase
A printer! I didn’t know how much I relied on the printer at my office until I didn’t have access to it anymore. And then after I wasn’t able to access the printer in my apartment building, I kind of gave in. Target was having a sale on a decent quality print and I totally bought it.
Other purchases
Reading
For the first time in maybe four years, I actually turned the wifi back on, on my kindle. Years ago, I had had it turned off so my library borrows never expired. It was great, but the downside to it meant that my galleys (advanced reader’s copies) couldn’t be sent to my kindle and could only be read on my phone. I finally decided this week that I was sick of reading galleys on my phone, so I turned the wifi back on. Yes, my library books disappeared, but all of my galleys appeared (and I have a lot of them), and that was worth it for me.
Audiobooks & Podcasts
Since I’m not commuting anymore, my original designated listening time has sadly decreased. Instead, I’m basically now listening to something whenever I’m going on walks, doing chores, or cooking. If I’m not reading or watching tv, I’m probably listening to something. (Unless I’m working, in which case I can’t really focus enough to listen to audiobooks.)
Here are some of the audiobooks and podcasts I’ve been listening to lately:
Podcasts:
Absolutely Not With Heather McMahan
American Girls
Be There in Five with Kate Kennedy
The Bitch Bible with Jackie Schimmel
The Morning Toast
Audiobooks**:
The Bromance Book Club
The Henna Artist
The Holdout
Things You Save in a Fire
Tweet Cute

Eating
This is everyone’s favorite topic, so who am I to stay away from it? The good part of living in DC during this is the number of restaurants who have decided to start delivering during quarantine. I can support a local business and eat a Michelin rated meal without leaving my couch. Which I have and it was delicious. No, I wasn’t able to go home for Passover and it sucked, but having my Passover meal cooked each night by a different restaurant definitely softened the blow.
I haven’t been eating out every night though. We’ve (my boyfriend and I) have actually only been ordering in about once a week since this started. I luckily was able to stock up on frozen foods before this started, so I’ve been worked away at that collection as the weeks go on. Honestly, my meals haven’t been very creative, more just simple and comforting. I’ve been so exhausted at the end of each work day that the idea of cooking a big elaborate meal just sounds exhausting.
There has been baking though. Plenty of baking. After all, I was a stress baker long before quarantine was ever going on.
Here’s my count so far:
Number of times I’ve baked with bananas (bread/muffins): 4.
Cookie Dough Bread: 1
Scones: 1
Do you guys like this post? Should I keep doing updates like this once a week or once every two weeks? Let me know what you think!
