I’ve written a lot of posts about dressing for summer weddings and picking out your shoes for summer weddings. With that, I’ve also accumulated a nice little collection of shoes and dresses that I basically rotate through for weddings. But recently, I think I found the winning shoes. The shoes that might be making an appearance at most of the weddings I’m going to this summer. And no, it’s not the nudist, one strap heels (but I still love those, don’t worry). Want to know what they are?

The Perfect Pair of Shoes for a Summer Wedding
Oddly enough, you’ve seen these shoes quite a few times on this blog, but in a few different forms. Ready to see what they are?
The J.Crew Factory Block Heel Sandal in Gold!
Yup, the best sandal ever now comes in gold. It also solves the problems that tend to arise when you’re picking out shoes for a summer wedding.
Location and Ground
One of the things I’ve always said you need to worry about is what type of ground you’ll be walking on, because in the summer, anything goes. It could be grass, gravel, sand, concrete, or just the basic indoors carpet/dance floor. Annoyingly, a lot of nice shoes don’t convert over to all of those different surfaces without ruining your shoes. Except for these sandals (with the exception of sand because no one wins in sand). They have a block heel which will save you in the grass or gravel, but you’ll still look good indoors.
Dress Code
These shoes cover MOST dress codes. I wouldn’t wear them for a black tie/black tie optional wedding, but otherwise, they’re pretty fair game. Plus, the reason I think gold makes them perfect for weddings (as opposed to the white, tan, or black) is because the gold dresses them up a little without making them gaudy.
Your Dress Style and Color
One of the reason I loved these sandals when they came out last year was because they went with basically everything. The gold sandals are luckily no exception. They’ll go with most of your clothing choices and dress colors.
How I Styled The Perfect Pair of Shoes for a Summer Wedding
Picked My Perfect Color
For me, navy is my favorite wedding color. I know that navy always looks great on me, it’s easy to find dresses in navy, and most of my shoes look good with navy. Plus, these gold shoes go great with navy.
Choose a Versatile Dress
I also love this dress because it’s a great cocktail length. The scuba-type fabric also allows me to dress it up or down depending on how nice the wedding is. I could go heavier or lighter on the jewelry depending on how I feel that day.
Pick Jewelry and Accessories that Compliment the Shoes
Okay, here’s where you can really go wrong. You’re wearing gold shoes here, so I would really suggest wearing jewelry that is gold or has touches of gold in it. I wouldn’t pick gunmetal necklace or clutch to wear alongside this look because trust me, it’ll just look off. If the wedding is a little more beachy, then you could go the route of more colorful jewelry or pieces to have fun with the look. Just make sure it’s you.

Do you have a default pair of shoes you wear to weddings? Would you wear a pair of gold shoes?
