One of my requirements for my clothes is that they have to be easy. I live in fear of fussy clothing that will fall apart as I’m wearing them. Or even worse, clothes I spend all day adjusting instead of living my life.
I was kind of nervous about that when I got this origami wrap.

Normally, a top like this would be the definition of that. Too many ways to wear it. Oh god, what if it comes un-knotted? My worry some brain could go on for hours. But when I brought it home from the Blog Societies Conference, my mom made me try it on.
And all of my fears went away.
This top was kind of magical. Lilla P had given all of us a postcard showing us some of the ways that different bloggers had styled the top, so my mom and I spent half an hour playing with it and trying to recreate them. I was expecting none of them to work for me, but they all did! Also, my mom was having way too much fun tying it.
Now normally, I would have gone for the straight away wrap version of this origami wrap. I love everything ballet inspired, so a basic wrap with a cami is right up my alley. But I was feeling a little bold for this shoot, so I decided to mix it up and do a boat neck instead. I’m also kicking myself now because I realized I didn’t get a picture of the back of the top. You can’t see it, but because of how it’s wrapped, it created a fun cross back.
So did this top win me over?
Yes. Will I get more origami tops? Um, I don’t know. I would definitely get this one in their canvas color, but I think that overall, this top is pretty much one of a kind. Between the super soft fabric and the fact that the different designs actually worked, I don’t think this top can be beat.
