When October rolls around, everyone’s attention turns to the two big P’s: pumpkins and pink-out. We all get the pumpkin part, but why pink?

Well, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Similar to Childhood Cancer Awareness month, Breast Cancer Awareness month also holds a special place in my heart.

While I was in grad school, I interned at American Eagle Outfitters and one of my larger internship project was working on the aerie and Bright Pink Partnership.
For those who don’t know, Bright Pink is a breast cancer awareness organization that focuses on the early detection and prevention of breast cancer.  They help remind young women to perform monthly self examination and keep them educated about breast cancer.

There I did everything from help hang up Bras Across the Bridge to help building a giant breast cancer awareness ribbon out of bras.

Since my internship ended, I’ve always loved getting to hear about how they celebrate the partnership each year. (And of course what new Bright Pink oriented products are put out.) This year, the aerie team built a TWO STORY awareness ribbon that’s currently set up outside of Heinz Field (where the Pittsburgh Steelers play). Really, could this team be any more impressive?

This year, aerie has also introduced the Bright Pink Bralette.

In addition to being adorable, 100% of the proceeds of this bralette go towards Bright Pink. Aerie has also put out a handful of adorable Bright Pink and girls run the world oriented pieces in honor of Bright Pink. While all of these pieces are amazing and I highly encourage you to get all of them, just a reminder that only sales of the Bright Pink Bralette go towards Bright Pink.

Now, please help me share about aerie and Bright Pink and shop more pink aerie products!
