I don’t remember the last time I did a review post, or an Old Navy Sale review for that matter. If I’ve ordered anything it’s been a one-off, try it on really quick, and then return it even quicker. But I realized that I missed doing these, so it was finally time to do a few shopping review posts. (Which yes, that means more of these are coming soon.)
Old Navy Sale Review
Old Navy Ponte-Knit Long-Sleeve Sheath Dress. Teal Dot, XS Petite
I know, I know, I’m not even listening to my own shopping advice on this dress. It’s totally a work dress, which I don’t really need right now. But you know what? I fell in love with this dress the minute I put in on. It fit so well, I love the color and I love the polkadots. No, I won’t be going into my office anytime soon, but I will wear the heck out of it on video calls, especially into the winter. If that’s not dedication, I don’t know what it.
Also, I just cleared out a handful of Old Navy ponte dresses from my closest that I’ve had for a few years that have held up well, but it’s time to say good-bye to them. (They can only hold up for so long.) So I think it’s okay to replace them with one.
Verdict: Keeping and I don’t care what anyone says.
Old Navy Waist-Defined Slub-Knit Midi T-Shirt Dress, Lost at Sea Navy, XS
One day, I will listen to my own rule about dresses at Old Navy: buy dresses in petite at Old Navy, because those fit the best. Everything else will not fit well. They didn’t have this dress in navy in petite, so I thought I would try out the regular size. Well, here’s what happened. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great. It just looks a little frumpy and it doesn’t fit quite right. You can see from the front facing picture that the waist is slightly too low and the hem is a little too long. It doesn’t look as bad from the side, but I can’t face the side all day, right?
Verdict: Returning and holding out for a petite size.
Old Navy Jersey Sleeveless Tie-Belt Jumpsuit, Copper Moon, XS Petite
Sometimes I listen to myself and get the petite size. This jumpsuit fit to a tee and was so comfortable. I just slid it on and was ready to curl up and take a nap. But I just wasn’t fully in love with it. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, it just wasn’t “me” enough.
Verdict: Return.
Gap Ribbed V-Neck Sweater Tank in Linen-Cotton, Milk white, XS
I honestly thought that getting this tank in a regular size instead of petite wouldn’t make a difference. But weirdly enough, it made a big difference with this top. The cut of this top fell a little more straight down than I expected, so in person, it looked a lot boxier than I wanted. It wasn’t great. I was left with a lot of extra material and having that cut away with a petite top would have been much better.
Verdict: Return
Old Navy Tie-Back Long-Sleeve Performance Top, Painted Desert, XS
I love this top! While it’s a little too hot to wear this in DC right now, it’ll be perfect for wearing this on walks once it gets a little chillier. It’s a very lightweight fabric and the top is actually cut open in the back to give it that loose effect in the front. Obviously you can tie it back if you don’t want it waving it around (which I’ll sometimes do if the billowing becomes a bit much. This top is also just great for lounging around the house when you’re tired (and not working out at all).
Verdict: Keep!
Old Navy High-Waisted Elevate Powersoft 7/8-Length Side-Pocket Leggings, Dark Ivy, Size: S
We don’t need to talk about how quickly those Zella leggings I wanted sold out during the Nordstrom sale. Instead, lets talk about how Old Navy finally got with the program and added pockets to their leggings. Which means that these leggings are officially an EXCELLENT alternative to the Zella pocket leggings. These leggings are stretchy, not see through, and they suck everything in. It’s everything you want and they have a lot of fun colors.
Verdict: keep!
It was a small order, so that it’s for now. But I have reordered a few more Old Navy dresses (in petite sizing, don’t worry), so expect another review post soon with more dress reviews!
