If I can give you any piece of shopping advice, it would be this: don’t try clothes on when you’re having a bad hair day.
(Okay, I could actually give you a lot more advice, but this was all I could think about when I wrote this post).
On to the post. Old Navy has really stepped it up this year. I feel like every time I’ve looked at their page recently, I find more things that I want to get. Also, I really have to hand it to them with their petite line. I stopped shopping at Old Navy because nothing seemed to fit me very well, but everything I tried on in the petite sizing was spot on!

Women’s Long Sleeve Shirt Dress  – $17.99

Sold Out: Similar Dress, Similar, Similar

I wanted to love this dress, I really did. I first saw it on Jessica’s Blog, Here & Now and absolutely loved it. It was even better when I realized that it was only $17 (and with a coupon, I got it for $13)! Now, I have to say, this dress is very well made and I really appreciated that the fabric wasn’t stiff and very easy to move around in. But, unfortunately, I really need to accept that I can’t belt dresses well, so if there’s no waist, it’s generally a no go for me. That, and when I was able to belt it, it was too short for work, which means it’s definitely out.

That being said, I still highly recommend this dress, especially if you’re a fan of shirt dresses. Even though it didn’t work for me, I’ve seen it work on a lot of other girls already and they look great in it!

Verdict: Return

Women’s Dolman-Sleeve Dress – $20

Unlike the other dress, I was unsure of this dress and bought it on a whim while I was looking through the website and wanted to find a comfy weekend sweater dress. And oh boy, did I.
As soon as I felt the fabric, I knew I was going to have a hard time giving the dress up. Luckily, in addition to feeling incredibly soft, the dress also fit really well.
This dress actually reminded me of a conversation I had with my 9 year old cousin (who is a bit of a tomboy) when I was telling her how the best thing about being a girl was that you could wear clothes that felt like sweatpants and still look really nice…to which she responded, “But I don’t want to look nice!” and ran away…Oh well I tried.
Since it was a little plain though, I decided to see how I could dress it up a little, to make sure it would work. And it did.
Verdict: Keep

Women’s Long Sleeve Crepe Blouse – $22

(Sold Out: Similar, Similar, Similar)

I had been looking for a silk-type white blouse for a while now, so when this showed up as I was browsing through the site, I figured I might as well try it out. And yet again, Old Navy won me over. As you saw in last week’s post, I not only liked the blouse, but ended up wearing it to work the next day.

Verdict: Keep
