First, yes that quote from Snakes on a Plane kept going through my head as I wrote this. Second, no, I would not like books to get off of planes, but these are in fact books that I would not necessarily bring on that mofo plane. Third, I would like to note that I actually really loved, enjoyed, and would recommend all of the books below. However, I would recommend reading them while your feet are planted firmly on the ground and you’re far away from an airport. These are NOT your plane books.
Why should you not bring these books with you to read while you’re on a flight? One, you’re human. Two, you have an imagination. Three, you don’t want to be scared out of your ever-loving mind while you’re on a flight.
With that I present, Books you SHOULD NOT read on a Plane
(PS none of my commentary is spoilers. They either happen pretty quickly or it’s in the book description):
Station Eleven – What’s a really fast way for a deadly disease to travel the world? By plane passengers of course.
Before the Fall – The first chapter ends with telling you that “he didn’t know that in 16 minutes, the plane would crash.” Nope. Nope. Nope.
Catch Me if You Can – It use to be disturbingly easy for someone to fake being a pilot.
In the Unlikely Event, – 2 plane crashes, one book. Enough said.
So next time you’re picking out your plane books, make sure you read the description first.
