Still here, broad casting live from my apartment…okay, not actually live, more like one day delayed because you can’t blog live…okay, I’m going to stop because I sound like I’m losing it (which I probably am).
So Anne and I hit a funny quarantine wall this month when it came to picking what we should style. I think it really showed how long we had been locked up because we both were like, “umm, we’ll we’ve been wearing the same thing every day. If I were to style an outfit, I would use half of the same pieces as last month.” The solution? Make things as simple as possible: a navy tee. A piece we both have and have been happily wearing.
Everlane Crew Tee (Similar, Similar, Similar)
Gap Cardigan (Similar, Similar)
Everlane Button Fly Jeans (Similar, Similar, Similar)
Everlane Reknit Flats (Similar, Similar, Similar)
The Navy Crew Neck Tee
I think the funniest thing about this outfit is that it describes exactly how my getting dressed has changed in the last two weeks.
Let me explain
The Button Fly Jeans
These jeans aren’t that new, but they haven’t seen the light of day in almost three months when I pulled them out of the drawer last week. I decided to introduce a “new” (/old) pair back into my life and this stretchy one seem like the best option. It definitely was and now I have a new pair of pants in my current rotation.
I also thought that they would be perfect to go with this navy tee because I love the navy and black combo (any past rules against it are just wrong).
The Cardigan
I definitely mentioned this in the last two months, but my daily outfits have consisted of either cardigans or sweaters. I found this one at Gap and it’s been a new favorite. It’s SO soft and I got it a little oversized so I could cuddle up in it.
Flats, Flats, Flats
Any new pair of shoes I’ve gotten during this time has been delegated to the status of “house shoes.” Aka I’ll wear them all over the house, but no way are these suckers going outside yet. My house shoes are for days when I don’t feel like wearing slippers (which sometimes just feel too hot). These shoes don’t need to see the harsh, germ ridden world yet.
I honestly haven’t been doing a lot of shoe shopping, but when I saw these super comfortable reknit flats at Everlane, I knew they would be the perfect pair to wear around the house. Then one day, maybe outside.
Now go check out Anne’s post and see how she styled her navy tee!
