I feel like I’m doing the Tour de Sweaters. First J.Crew sweaters and now I’m looking at Madewell sweaters (with a few other brands thrown in). But sweaters are my favorite things (right up there with shoes), so it’s a tour that I definitely don’t mind.
Madewell Sweaters Review
Madewell Stripe Pickford Pullover Sweater, Navy, XS
Blue with stripes? My favorite things! This sweater is very comfortable and the knit is thankfully soft, not scratchy. It’s not the softest material ever, but it’s definitely comfortable (I could curl up in it). But the fit is about halfway between boxy and fitted. As you can see from the pictures it looks like it’s fitted from the front, but from the side view, it looks pretty loose. You could easily layer under, so it’d be great in the winter. I just can’t decide if I love it though. I’ve had it sitting in my apartment for about a week though and since I haven’t reached to put it on, that might be the sign for me. Granted, I haven’t put on any pullover sweaters in the last week, so who knows.
Verdict: I’m all kinds of confused
Madewell Bobble Cardigan Sweater, Ivory, XS
Well this looked super cute on the website. But um, it’s a little too big in person. I could probably stand for sizing down one more size, but I’m not in love with it. The sleeves are a bit much and I just felt silly in it.

Madewell Colburne Colorblock Coziest Textured Yarn Cardigan Sweater, Apricoat, XS
Yes, I’m fully aware that the picture on the right is blurry, but it was the only picture I got and by the time I realize the picture was blurry, the sweater was already in the mail on it’s way back to the store (spoiler). I wanted to give you an idea of what the front of the sweater looked like though, so blurry sweater it is! Anyways, I’ve seen this sweater on other bloggers and it looked super cute, but I just didn’t love it. I just felt like the drop hem for the sleeves went too low for my liking. Also, I couldn’t figure out anything I would wear it with other than a white shirt.
However, if you do like the look of this sweater (and again, I’ve seen it look great on other people), it is an incredibly soft sweater. So soft that I almost kept it because it was so soft and cozy. But I can’t keep a sweater just because it’s soft, right?
Verdict: Return
Topshop Butterfly Super Crop Sweater, Yellow, XS
Okay, if I was to just go off how soft and cozy a sweater was and not the look, I probably would have kept this sweater. It was SO comfortable. But alas friends, you might notice that a portion of this sweater is missing. They really weren’t kidding when they said this was a cropped sweater. But I was hoping that it would be a “cropped” in the sense that it would still cover the top of my high-waist jeans. Not in the sense that it would stop a few inches above that. I just couldn’t handle it.

Old Navy Vintage Crew-Neck Sweatshirt for Women, Cream Floral, XS
I love a good crewneck sweater. I’ve sung praises for them before. Especially the ones from Old Navy. This one is incredibly comfortable and I love the vintage-y floral pattern. It’s a no brainer.
Verdict: Keep
Old Navy Cozy Pointelle-Knit Crew-Neck Sweater for Women, Green, XS
This one is a little bit of a toss up for me. It’s super soft and comfortable and I love the shade of green. But I can’t decide how I feel about how it looks on me. Does this sweater look good or is it too bulky? I don’t know! I do know that I love the knitted pattern though. Why are these decisions so hard?!
Verdict: Undecided
Madewell Whisper Cotton V-Neck Tank, White, XS
I don’t know how much of a review we need for this one. I just wanted a simple tank to wear around the house, but would also look good if I ran errands. It doesn’t really work by itself for fall weather, but it would probably serve as an undershirt right now.
Verdict: Keep
