It’s the final countdown! For buying gifts at least. Literally. If you’re buying presents for Hannukah, you missed it. If you’re buying presents for Christmas, you have like a day and a half. So let’s get started with this last minute gift guide!
PS Everything on this list is under $50!
Last Minute Gift Guide
From Amazon
I combed through The Same-Day Store for this guide. What does that mean?If you’re ordering from Amazon and you order by today (December 23rd) by 5pm, they’re claiming that you can get it today. Now, this is subject to availability. Also, it’s FREE for Prime members on qualifying orders over $35 or $2.99 per order. Available without a Prime membership at $12.99 per order. So now is the perfect time to start a Prime trial if you don’t have Prime already. (And then cancel it when you’re done shopping.)
Lightsaber Chopsticks
Every time I see these I love them a little bit more. They’re so funny and perfect for any Star Wars lover. Or just someone who needs chopsticks.
Insulated Martini Cooling Cups
I think I’ve been listening to The Bitch Bible too much, because a cooling Martini glasses sounds like a great gift for someone who loves building out their bar cart.
12 Oz Tumbler Glass
I live in fear of spilling my tea on the couch. I’m pretty sure it’s the same for people who drink red wine on Bachelor nights. Luckily, this tumbler could save both of us, with it’s lid.
Galison Herstory Museum Puzzle
I need to meet the PR team for puzzles, because I think they won 2020. So let’s indulge them a little more and pick up a few last minute ones for friends.
Nordstrom
In order to get your items by Christmas, select $20 expedited shipping for eligible items by noon ET on December 23. Also, check to see if the item is available at a Nordstrom near you!
Bala Bangles
These are great for anyone who has been bitten by the exercise bug this year. These easy one pound weights can be worn around ankles or weights for a little extra edge during any work out. Even better, they’re actually cute.
Blondo Waterproof Slipper
Perfect for the homebody who has to go outside to let their dogs out in the morning. Keep your feet nice, cozy, and dry!
Travel Size Hand Sanitizer
Sorry guys, the need for hand sanitizer isn’t going away anytime soon. So why not gift one that’s actually cute? This would make a great stocking stuffer too!
Mon Ami Facial Acupressure Beauty Tool
I’m sure there’s a beauty lover in your life that you forgot to get a gift for. Give them the gift that will let them indulge their face every morning with a little facial massage.
2-Pack Satin Scarf Scrunchies
Bows made a big comeback this year and I love it. This would be great for your preppy friend who gave into the trend (like me!).
Metallic Color Pencil Set
Have a friend who picked up coloring as a way to relieve stress? Help them step up their game with metallic pencils!
Hot Chocolate On a Stick
Who will say no to hot chocolate? This is like a dream come true!
Mini Jewelry Box
This little jewelry box is completely adorable. It’s perfect for someone who is normally a traveler or I could see it being a cute gift for a little girl.
Other Last Minute Ideas
Gift Cards
People always shut down gift cards, which seems so silly to me. It’s really not impersonal (which is the answer I get the most) if it’s to somewhere where someone will actually use it. Plus, if you aren’t going to get to see someone in person, you can easily send them online
Gift Card to A Local Bookstore
Personally, I want my local bookstore to be around when this is all over. So if you’re lost as to what to get someone, go to your local bookstore and pick up a gift card. Even if they can’t find a book, almost every bookstore also has puzzles, calendars, and plenty of other things they can pick from.
Gift Certificates to Restaurants
This is like the gift that keeps on giving this year. You can support a local restaurant AND give a gift to your friend! Plus, if your friends are parents, that’s one extra night where they don’t have to cook. It’s a win for everyone.
Museum Membership or Theater Tickets
Museums and theater companies are really hurting this year. But most of them are finding ways that they can still provide entertainment for their members. Many theater companies are providing events that you can watch at home, while museums are offering at home events that parents could do with their kids. Gifting a membership can help the arts company and provide hours of entertainment for your friend!
And remember, worse comes to worse, you can always give a picture of the gift you’re giving them with a note that it’s on the way. It’s 2020, they’ll forgive you.
