The day was perfect: warm, overcast, and pouring.
Except actually, it was a pretty awesome day. A few days earlier, I had met this guy named Josh at Blogger Scene and he was telling a group of us about his company, Jonas Umbrellas.
Jonas Umbrellas is launching their first limited edition clean water umbrella in collaboration with non-profit organization Drop in the Bucket this May. Together, Jonas Umbrellas and Drop in the Bucket have committed to providing clean water wells to schools across Sub-Saharan Africa. Every 3,000 umbrellas sold allows Jonas Umbrellas and Drop in the Bucket to implement one clean water well at a school in Africa. Each well provides 1,000 school children and their families with clean-water.
As a nonprofit worker and a fashion blogger, I absolutely can’t resist products with a cause. So once I got home, I looked up the company and stumbled across their indiegogo campaign. I was originally planning on just looking at their designs, but I loved the cause (and the umbrella!) so much that I donated to the indiegogo campaign.
If you didn’t guess, I also then contacted Josh and asked if we could do a collaboration for Something Good.
So let me tell you a little bit more about the umbrella:
Jonas Umbrellas premier model features a bicycle print that is hand designed by Designer Nastassia Groleau and Creative Director Nikol Rainwater. Other features include a 48-inch canopy, fiberglass ribs, automatic open button, and a curved wooden handle with a numbered engraving that connects to the well project design. Once 3,000 umbrellas have been sold, the pattern will be discontinued and one clean water well will have been funded.
So back to the perfect day. Josh offered to take some pictures of me and the wonderful umbrella and when we realized that it was suppose to be thunder-storming on Saturday..well…it sounded like the perfect day to break out the umbrella!
Would you like to pre-order one of the umbrellas? Just visit here!
The campaign ends on May 21st, so hurry up.
I’ve already pre-ordered mine and I hope you’ll join me!

Consumers will be able to track the progress of the clean water project using
their umbrella’s number through videos, pictures, and blog write-ups. Upon
completion of the well, Jonas Umbrellas will send one consumer to visit the well
and the people affected.
I was not compensated in any way for this post. I truly love Jonas Umbrellas and want to help this company succeed.
