Thanksgiving is officially over and we’re moving into chilly weather with lots of snow. Okay, well maybe Anne is, but in DC I don’t know what the heck is going on. It’s currently 60 degrees outside while I’m writing this and the rest of the week is going to be in the mid-50s. Why am I telling you all of this? Well, to share my point that as much as I want to put together outfits with all of the layers, it’s just not cold enough in DC. So some of my outfits (like this one) might still look a little fall-ish. Some might be more winterish.
Also, why did I compare myself to Anne? Well, if you didn’t notice from the title, it’s time for another Blogger Style Two Ways post!
What’s Blogger Style Two Ways?
It’s pretty simple, Anne and I both pick a piece in our wardrobe that we both have. We then share the different ways that we each styled the blazer. What I love about this link up is that Anne and I don’t share with each other how we’ve style the piece beforehand. So we get to be just as surprised as you guys when the post goes live.

The Sweater Blazer
For today’s post, we both decided to style our sweater blazers from J.Crew. The great thing about sweater blazers is that they can be incredibly versatile. They can easily be dressed up for work, or you can dress them down with jeans and a t-shirt. Either way, it’s made with a stretchy, slightly less structured material. This gives you room for more movement. I also personally think these sweater blazers are thicker and more comfortable in general.
J.Crew Margot cropped sweater-blazer
There is one BIG difference between my blazer and Anne’s blazer though. Did you spot it already? I’m wearing the J.Crew Margot cropped sweater-blazer, while Anne is wearing the uncropped version. I had previously tried on the regular version in XXS and XS. Sadly though, it was too long, no matter which version it was. I figured I wasn’t going to get it, but would keep checking just in case they came out with a petite size.
J.Crew ended up NOT coming out with a petite size, BUT the cropped version was basically the equivalent. It hit at the perfect place and the length is much better for all petites.
How I Styled My J.Crew Sweater Blazer
I decided to style my blazer in a way I could easily wear to work on a casual Friday (or sub out the pants for a regular day). The cognac shoes were a fun way to convey a more professional look, until you turned your foot to the side and someone sees the cutout. Finally, I tied my scarf around my tote strap to tie everything together.
Since I also have this blazer in navy and black, you’ve seen me style it for Thanksgiving. But I’d also pair it with a dress for work or a cute tank and jeans if I was going out. It’s a great way to stay warm and look really cute.
Alright, well now that you’ve seen how I’ve styled my J.Crew Sweater Blazer, head over to Anne’s post and see how she styled her blazer!
