So Anne and I had a full plan of outfit pieces ready to go for the next few months and then we got to April and remembered something pretty obvious: while DC might having 80 degree days, Michigan is still getting hit with snow storms in April. Ummmm, so yeah. We kind of had to scrap our April plan and try again. Luckily, we both recently added a piece to our wardrobe that we were obsessed with: the J.Crew Sophie Blazer. It was the perfect solution. How could we NOT include it in Blogger Style Two Ways??
What’s Blogger Style Two Ways?
So what is Blogger Style Two Ways? Well, for the past few years of blogging, Anne and I have joked about how we’re basically closet twins. Every time one of us would post an outfit, the other one would pretty much be able to recreate it since we had almost the same pieces. But instead of being copycats, we decided to use our powers for good. So once a month, we pick a piece that we both have in our closet and show you two different ways that you could style it!
But, my favorite part is that Anne and I don’t share with each other how we’re going to style it ahead of time, so it’s a surprise to both of us as well! We haven’t matched yet, but I feel like it’s coming soon! So after reading my post, go check out Anne’s post and see how she styled her blazer!
J.Crew Sweater-Blazer (this goes on sale all the time, so you should never pay full price, cropped version, similar less expensive version)
Old Navy Top (old, but a really similar option, similar option, similar)
Aeo Jegging
Old Navy Flat Mules (old, but a really similar option, similar option, similar)
Madewell Necklace (sold out, but a really similar option, similar option, similar)
The J.Crew Open-Front Sweater-Blazer
Now, back in November, we styled a more cropped sweater blazer, but this one is completely different.
J.CREW SOPHIE Open-Front Sweater-Blazer
I absolutely love this longer blazer look. While the cropped one is closer to a blazer, this longer one makes me feel like I’m feeling like I’m wearing a cozy sweater, but I look so much more polished than a long cardigan. It’s also warm too! This entire month I’ve been substituting it for a jacket and it’s been great. I’ve loved not having to carry around a jacket and a sweater everywhere.
HOW I STYLED MY J.Crew Open-Front Sweater-Blazer
For this post, I decided to just keep things really simple. This is an outfit I’ve worn for casual Friday’s at work. I also re-wore it for Passover Seder.
Other ways I’ve styled it? I’ve worn this jacket over dresses, with ankle pants, and with long sleeves. Now, you may think that this jacket would look funny with long sleeves since it’s a 3/4 sleeve, but it actually looks really cute! Which is really lucky, because I would be in trouble if it didn’t look good (and it would cut down it’s usefulness).
Now head over to Anne’s post and see how she styled her sweater blazer!
