Hello from the J.Crew dressing room! Okay, more like from the comfort of my couch after going to J.Crew. But you get the point. Anyways, here are some things that I tried on at J.Crew the other weekend.
J.Crew Plaid ruffle mini skirt in double-serge wool, Size 0
As you can tell from yesterday’s post, I’m fully on board with this skirt. I’m just hoping I can get a further price adjustment from how much I got it for ($83). It’s pretty true to size and the ruffle actually lays a lot flatter than I thought it would. Plus, it’s plaid, so I love it.
Verdict: Keep (and pray for further reductions)
J.Crew Ruffle mini skirt in houndstooth, Size 0
I have such mixed feelings about this skirt. It’s wool so it’s warm. I love the little ruffle at the bottom. But the cut of the skirt is so weird. I think it just runs a little big though, so I’m going to try sizing down to a 00 and see what happens. I feel like I should also warn you, the waist band of this skirt is so thick. Like thicker, and puffier than normal.
Verdict: Return…for now
J.Crew “Amour” sweatshirt, XS
Isn’t this sweatshirt cute? It’s also pretty cozy too! I don’t really want to spend that much on a sweatshirt though. If it ever goes on sale, I’ll consider it. Until then though, it’s a pass.
Verdict: Pass, for now.
J.Crew Bell Sleeve Daisy Lace Top, Size 0
Yeahhh, no, this top isn’t going to happen. I just felt so overwhelmed in fabric and the black was a little too much on me. I’m curious if this top would look better on me in white, but they didn’t have it in stock in the store. In case you’re curious, this top had a built in nude tank. It is removable though if you’d rather wear your own top. The tank is pretty constricting so it might be helpful to wear your own.
Verdict: Back on the rack.
J.Crew Ribbed turtleneck bodysuit, XS
Maybe if it wasn’t gray? Maybe if I was wearing high waist jeans? Maybe if it was thicker? Basically, there were too many maybe’s with this top. The bodysuit part really wasn’t a problem, surprisingly. But overall, don’t get the gray. Maybe go for the black and wear it with high waist jeans.
Verdict: No thank you.
That’s all from the J.Crew dressing room. What do you think of these pieces? Anything that you’re interested in?
