I feel like today’s post should come with a warning. Why?
Well, my advice today is incredibly simple. It can also be incredibly useful, but only if you want it to be.
So, do you want to know how I found the perfect present for mother’s day?

Well, it’s super simple….I asked my mom what she wanted!
You’re probably either rolling your eyes and me right now. Or you’re saying hell no. I’ve gotten both reactions a lot. But hear me out for a second. I’ve been on the receiving end of a lot of bad gifts. I’ve also watched people give a lot of bad gifts. Why? Well a lot of people just assume that they know what someone wants. Or they give the present that they want to give. Either way, people are giving and receiving presents they don’t want.
And why when there’s such an easy way to avoid this dilemma. Just ask people what they want.
No, maybe it’s not as much fun as a surprise, but you know that they’ll actually love and use what you’re giving them.
So how are we tying this back to Mother’s Day?
Well, my Mom is pretty awesome and has been in search of new glasses. We were supposed to go looking for a new pair when I was in town in April, but we sadly ran out of time. This Mother’s Day though, I’m fixing that and letting her pick out a new pair of glasses from Coastal, who so kindly agreed to give a pair to both her and me for Mother’s Day! She was able to pick out a new pair of prescription sunglasses and now she doesn’t have to spend hours trying on new pairs.
Also, in case you’re curious, I do this with her for every other Mother’s Day/Birthday and it’s always worked out well. She gets exactly what she wants, whether it’s a new kindle case or a pair of sunglasses! So there you have it, that’s how I found the perfect present for Mother’s Day.
If you’re doubting my methods, why not give it a chance this Mother’s Day.
You might be surprised when you find out what your mom really wants!
PS If you’re curious about the glasses that I got from Coastal, I got the Kodak BlueReflect Lens.
They’re created to help protect your eyes from the blue light in digital screens. I love using them when my eyes get tired at the end of the day. Get 30% off your pair of glasses with code SOMETHINGGOOD.
