Oh boy, we’ve been in shopping-ish season for a little bit now, but with Black Friday coming up in a few days, we’re about to go full force into shopping mode. Before you start shopping though, I wanted to share a few of my favorite holiday shopping tips and tools.
I have a number of holiday shopping tips (and year round shopping tips) I’ve used over the years to help me save a little money while I’m shopping and make a little bit of money too! Yes, you read that correctly. I make money while I shop.
Ebates
Do you want to make money while you shop also? I’m assuming you said yes, because I have no idea why you would say no. If you do, you need to sign up for Ebates. All you have to do is go through their site first before you go shopping and you’ll get a small percent of cash back once you order. It’s only a small amount on each purchase, but it adds up fast. In the last three years, I’ve made over $900 in cash back.
Honey
Honey is a Google Chrome plug-in that I recently started using and I love. Whenever you’re shopping online, Honey will test all of the store’s available coupons for you and automatically apply any coupons that you can use to your order! You’ll also get points which you can later use for cash back or gift cards through Honey. The only note that I want to make is if the coupon relies on you using your store card to get the discount, you’ll have to apply that manually.
Shoptagr
WI always try to avoid buying things full price and I always try to get the best deal. That can actually be really annoying and difficult because it means I’m sitting on items and waiting for them to go on sale. Or I’m hoping they come back in stock. And tracking all of that? Pain in the butt. Luckily, Shoptar now does that for me. I can “tag” any item that I’m interested in and set up sale alerts for each item! Shoptagr will also tell you when an item goes back in stock so you can scoop it up right away. I’ve even left some price alerts on items I’ve already bought. This way I can call and get a price adjustment if it goes on sale for even less. With Black Friday coming up, this can really help with organizing your to-buy list and showing you what items to hold off on!
Do yourself a favor and sign up for all of these tools before Friday. It’s going to make your shopping experience much easier!
Oh and don’t forget, my sale guide for this week will be going up soon! With all of the pre-Black Friday sales going on right now (so weird), I’m debating putting it up tomorrow, but if I don’t do that, then it’ll probably go live late Thursday night/Friday morning. Either way, make sure you use all of my holiday shopping tips!
