Two sunny days in a row, multiple chores accomplished, and I actually got work outs in? Needless to say, it’s been a pretty good two days. Actually, let’s say three, because I really enjoyed laying around Saturday afternoon and watching things from my Hulu queue.
Tights: Old Navy (Same)
Boots: Shoemint (Old, Similar)
Necklace: J. Crew Factory (Old, Similar)
Now let’s talk about this red J.Crew Factory Sweater
I used to hate wearing red. Or really any bright color. I don’t know if it was because I was used to years of wearing black in the theater world, but bright colors scared me. They felt like a giant, LOOK AT ME sign! And you know what? I didn’t want that.
How I Styled It
So how did I figure out how to wear this bright red J.Crew Factory sweater without freaking out? Simple. I toned everything else down. I paired it with these black riding boots and black skirt. The skirt does have some eyelet detailing though so it’s not completely bland.
Now, I could have paired it with a floral skirt or a plaid skirt with similar colors, but that would have been too much for me. It would have been a lot of colors at once. This pairing allowed me to ease into wearing red, but still feel comfortable.
Other ways to style your red sweater
What are some other ways to style your sweater, but still ease into wearing it? Jeans and cognac boots would be a great combination. Or if you want to get even more casual, a pair of white converse an a baseball cap can give you a great casual look. It’s all about making sure that you still feel comfortable!
