I don’t know what it is about summer, but as soon as it starts, I just want light foods. Salads, ice teas, yogurt, tacos (those count), I want them all!
It’s actually a little funny because the food I actually crave the most during the summer is yogurt. Maybe it’s because of all of the fresh fruit around during the summer? Or maybe because it’s an easy way to get some dairy into my diet (aside from all of the ice cream I eat, haha). Let’s talk about two of my favorite ways to have yogurt during the summer.
With Honey and Berries
This is one of my favorite combinations! I’ll get some plain Greek yogurt, then sprinkle honey and fresh berries on it. The honey helps to sweeten plain greek yogurt (which isn’t very sweet). If I want to add a crunch, I’ll add in a little vanilla.
Another option is to get an already flavored greek yogurt, like the Greek Gods Honey Vanilla Yogurt and then add berries (strawberry and raspberry are my favorite) to it!
As a Baking Ingredient
I love substituting Greek yogurt when I’m baking. And in the summer, I do a lot of baking (especially healthy muffins). It’s a great substitute for oil. There are a few other things it can be substituted for as well, but that can vary based on the recipe.
