This might be one of my favorite posts to put together every year. I love getting to share my favorite purchases of 2018 that have made my life easier or better with you. The list this year is long (but really good), so I’ll just let you read on.

1. Electric Water Kettle

Okay, so I know that I can totally just heat up water in the microwave like a normal person, but I love having an electric kettle. It’s like a little luxury to have hot water ready on demand for my tea whenever I want it. I have it set up on my counter so it’s ready to go at all times.

2. Magnetic Measuring Spoons

I’ve been putting off getting these for so long and I have no idea why. They’ve made my cooking/baking life so much better. Why? First, the oblong end fits into spice jars so much better than regular circular measuring spoons. Second, they still have the circle on the other side, which means I get double the use out of one spoon (making cleaning up so much better). Third, they’re metal, so they’re much harder to break, unlike my plastic ones that have snapped before (I’m an intense baker, what can I say?). Finally, they’re magnetic! They stick to each other in the drawers so I’m so much less likely to lose them.

3. Rubbermaid Storage Containers

While we’re on the topic of baking, I might as well mention my rubbermaid storage containers. I’m obsessed (yes, I just said that about storage containers). I previously had a mismatch of containers for flour, sugar, etc., but they all didn’t work very well (they seal was not actually sealed). These actually have an airtight seal. They also stack really well and look gorgeous stacked together. I’m actually okay with having these on display and they make my kitchen look so much better.

4. rezip Reusable Storage Bags

After realizing how many plastic ziplock bags I was going through per week for my breakfasts (I make my own oatmeal packs and bring them to work), I decided enough was enough. I went on Amazon and purchased these reusable ziplock bags. They were so amazing though that I ended up going back and buying larger sizes for other things. I don’t just use them for food though: I keep one in my purse that I throw random things in so they aren’t rolling around my bag. Also, when I travel, I use one for make up brushes. It’s so easy to just wash them when I’m done and use them for something else later.

5. Book of the Month Subscription

I was iffy about doing BOTM, but I’ve loved it since. I love getting to discover new books and authors though the subscription. Plus, getting a brand new hardcover for $14.99 is a pretty sweet deal.

6. Revlon Oval One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizing Styler

I’m a fail when it comes to styling my hair. I’m just learning this year how to curl my hair and I couldn’t do a blowout to save my life. This brush is making it a little easier to attempt a blow out though. It’s a roller brush that has a built in hair dryer! After washing my hair, I just use this to dry it. It’s so much easier than trying to maneuver a hair dryer and roller brush (which I’m not very good at). I’m not so good that I don’t need my hair straightener at all, but it cuts down on my straightening time and gives it more volume than it would have otherwise.

7. Weighted Blanket

If you haven’t slept with a weighted blanket yet, you’re doing yourself a major disservice. The hype about these blankets is 100% real. I feel so much calmer with one of these blankets and I feel like my sleep is that much better.

8 Mr. Coffee Mug Warmer

This one is definitely a silly luxury, but I love it. It’s so simple and does something so useful! After all, don’t you hate when your tea (or coffee) gets cold?

9. Everlane Underwear

(Dad, you can skip this one) I’m oddly attached to certain brands when it comes to underwear and it’s hard for me to switch to something new. But we all know I’m obsessed with Everlane, so if they’re going to put out underwear, I’m going to try it. Guys, it’s the real deal. It’s so comfortable, decently priced (3 for $27), and comes in basic and fun colors. Also, I normally despise wearing thongs, but Everlane is the first comfortable one I’ve been able to find.

10. Beautycounter Color Intense Lipsticks

So you all know that I’ve been trying out Beautycounter and clean beauty for a while now. While some of the products haven’t stuck, these lipsticks are the real deal. They feel so smooth and creamy going on, last for quite some time, and look great! I could rave more about these lipsticks, but you need to just get one and try it for yourself. If you want a good deal, you can get this duo pack right now at a major discount!

11. J.Crew Factory Cape Scarf

Another last minute buy that turned out to be a winner! During my trip, I would wear it as a scarf while we walked around. Then, once we reached out destination, I would take off my jacket and use it as a sweater/shawl. It’s such an ingenious idea and made me feel like I doubled my wardrobe choices during the trip.

12. Everlane Day Gloves

You’ve heard me talk about these shoes so much you’re probably sick of them already. Sorry, not sorry. They’re amazing. Read my post here to find out why I love them so damn much.

13. Lou & Grey Signaturesoft Drawstring Cowl Dress

Finding a good, casual, insanely comfortable dress is like finding a diamond in the rough. This one is that diamond. It’s so comfortable it’s not even fair. It’s also really warm, so I can wear it into the winter months.

14. J.Crew Chelsea Rain Boots

I purchased these for my trip to Europe at the last minute, and it was the best last minute purchase. I wore these for the entire trip and they were so comfortable to walk in. They were also perfect for Amsterdam and London when it was raining for most of the visit.

15. Bagsmart Small Travel Electronics Cable Organizer Bag

This was another last minute buy before my Europe trip and it was such a good decision. I tend to travel with a number of different usb cords, a wireless mouse, pens, and other various computer tools. This pouch keeps them all organized and it on contained place. It made finding all of my cords so much easier on the trip, but I’ve also started to use it in general. It’s so amazing to not have to dig through my bag to find one cord. Even better, the case is still fairly slim, even when stuffed, so I don’t feel like it’s overtaking my bag.

16. Liquid IV Hydration Multipler

If you’ve met me in person, you’ve probably seen me drinking Liquid IV. I’m obsessed. All you have to do is pour one pack into a water bottle and it gives you triple the hydration. I’ll grab one of these packs during the weekend when I know I’m not as good about drinking enough water. Or if I feel a migraine coming, I’ll add one of these to my drink to get me super hydrated.

17. Fitbit Alta

I can be a little too goal and numbers oriented sometimes, so it’s been nice to give myself a daily step goal and try to stick with it. I love being able to track this on my wrist instead of my phone since it means that I don’t have to carry my phone everywhere to actually track my steps. Also, yes, it was really fun to track my steps while I was in Europe over the last two weeks to see how many we got every day from walking around. (This gold band and this leather band are my two favorite to use.)

18. Colored Pencils and Case with a Built In Sharpener

One of my favorite things to do when I’m traveling is color while listening to an audiobook. I find it incredibly relaxing and it makes the trip fly by. I use to just have a basic case of colored pencils that I would throw in my bag, but this case is a game changer. It has more than just your basic colors and a built in sharpener. It’s circular case makes it easy to pack and they smartly put in a piece of foam between the top of the case and the pencils so they don’t break while you’re traveling!
