I’m not proud of it but 2020 was definitely the year of weird and impulse purchases. But out of that, I definitely found some really good products too. So I wanted to share my list of my favorite products from 2020.
My Favorite Products from 2020
From Amazon
J.Crew Polartec Sherpa Fleece Jacket
This jacket has been my life saver for afternoons at the dog park and early morning dog walks. It’s so warm and the perfect outer layer. You wouldn’t think it would be so warm, but it is! it’s all about that Polartec!
Everlane The ReNew Slipper
Was I planning on getting a new pair of slippers this year? No. But was I upset when Everlane sent me this new pair? Nope. This pair is so cozy and warm, it’s amazing. I also love how soft they are. If you need a new pair of slippers, get these!
J.Crew Waffle Joggers
Holy thick sweatpants. I love waffle knit everything, but these joggers take waffle knit to a whole new level. My favorite part of the day has been putting these on to get cozy on the couch.
Everlane The Modern Breton Tee
Does anyone not love a striped tee? I love how this one is loose, but not too loose. Thick, but not too thick. Plus, since it’s a drop shoulder, don’t have to worry about the shoulder hem being off. Complete win.
Old Navy Plush-Knit Lounge Jogger Pants
I got these joggers at the beginning of quarantine and they are so soft. Like, amazingly soft. They come in and out of stock on the Old Navy website frequently, so if you can nab a pair when they can come in stock, do it!
Everlane The Organic Cotton Box-Cut Pocket Tee
I didn’t think I would like this tee at first. It’s kind of cropped and box cut. But then I tried it out. These tops were soft, they fit perfectly, and the pocket was a perfect addition. They’re also great layering pieces.
Freedom Moses Metallic Plastic Slides
I never thought I would ever be into sandals like these. But I kept hearing about how comfortable they were. Oh my god, everyone was right. They were incredibly comfortable and they actually looked pretty cute. I can’t wait to break them out again for summer 2021.
In the Kitchen
Deluxe Recipe Binder
Early in 2020, I went to go find my favorite scones recipe online and I had a mini freakout: “the recipe was from a really old and never updated blog. What if the owner took down the site?” That’s when I decided it was time to start saving and printing out my favorite recipes. My mom already had this binder and I knew that it worked really well for her. So I got the link to it from her and ordered a copy for myself. It’s been amazing. I’ve been printing out all of my favorite “most used” recipes online and storing them there. I also love how everything is stored in a plastic sheet, so your recipe is protected, even if a little water (or flour!) gets on it.
Instant Pot Duo Nova Pressure Cooker
I’ve previously owned a pressure cooker, but I finally gave in this year and got an Instant Pot to replace it. Why? Well apparently a regular pressure cooker doesn’t have the same buttons or settings as a Instant Pot, so it was really hard to match up the recipes I would find online. The Instant Pot has been amazing though. The Duo Nova is basically idiot proof and I’ve already made plenty of recipes with it. It’s been what’s helped me get back into cooking real dinners again and I love it.
Hamilton Beach Personal Blender
Things I also threw out this year? My magic bullet. I loved my magic bullet, but I’ve had it for 12 years and it finally bit the dust. To replace it, I got this blender during one of the Amazon Prime deals for $14 and it’s been amazing. I’ve used it to make myself smoothies for lunch every day and it’s the perfect size.
Martha Stewart Collection Set of 3 Non-Skid Mixing Bowls
Wow, I’m just now realizing how many things from my kitchen I’ve replaced in 2020. The other thing to go? My plastic mixing bowls. Stainless steel is the way to go, especially if they have non-skid bottoms. This collection from Martha Stewart is amazing, especially since Macy’s has sales all of the time. (The collection I got isn’t available right now, but this set is almost exactly the same.)
For the Home
Home Brilliant Throw Pillow Covers
This fall I decided I was sick of looking at the throw pillows on my couch. They weren’t that cozy to lay on and I was over the color. But I wasn’t going to buy all new pillows, so I started looking into pillow covers. Enter these amazing soft corduroy covers. I got the navy blue, but there are so many options you can find the perfect ones for you. It completely changed the look of my living room and they’re so much nicer to nap on.
Goodpick Wicker Basket
What do you do when you have a lot of dump zones in your apartment and no idea what to do with the things? Get baskets! I now have three versions of these baskets (one for workout things, one for blankets, and one for dog toys) and they make my living room look so much nicer. Plus, my dog loves chewing on them and climbing into them, so it’s built-in entertainment for her as well.
Random, But I Love It
J.Crew Face Masks
Everyone started making facemasks in 2020 (for a good reason), so it’s n interesting trying out so many of them and seeing what I actually like. One of my favorites has been the J.Crew masks. Between the cut, the Liberty London fabric, and the ruffles, these quickly rose to the top of my list of favorites.
Rifle Paper Co. x Corkcicle Coffee Mug
I’ve already explained here why people should buy a covered mug and since I love sitting on the couch, it’s no surprise that this was one of my favorite purchases. Not only is it pretty, but it keeps my drinks SUPER hot and the chances of me spilling my tea on the couch go down by 93%.
Away Backpack
Did my backpack use significantly decrease this year? Yes. But did that stop me from ordering this backpack when it went on sale? Nope. I had been eyeing it for a while since my other backpacks were falling apart and I couldn’t resist the opportunity. I have actually used it during my few roadtrips and it was an excellent purchase. If you would like to get one for yourself, use this link to get $20 off of your first order!
BARK Loose Leaf Leif Dog Toy
Yes, yes I am linking to a dog toy. But this dog toy has been my dog’s favorite toy and the best impulse purchase I made this year. I just bought it because I thought it was cute, but my dog love the squeaky noise that the base of the tree made and she loved rolling around with the leaves part. In fact, she loved it SO much that we’ve already had to purchase a replacement.
Gallon Water Bottle
Everyone who has seen this water bottle has laughed at it (it is huge), but at least I’ve finally found something to help me get a little better at staying hydrated. I haven’t been as good at drinking a whole thing as I was at the beginning of the summer, but I try to drink as much as I can now.
What have been your favorite products from 2020? Or at least the best purchase you made? Let me know!
