The fall styles at J.Crew and J.Crew Factory right now are basically eating through everything in my wallet. It’s not good. It’s great. Okay, it’s not good for my wallet, but personally, I’ve never looked better.

J.Crew Classic Striped T-Shirt, Rich Gold Ivory, XS

How can I say no to a striped shirt, right? Especially this one which fits perfectly. I have a few different ones from J.Crew and all of the knots have different weights, but this one falls solidly in the middle. It’s not flimsy and it won’t stretch out, but it’s not too heavy either.

Plus, this all goes perfectly with my recent mustard/gold kick.

Verdict: Keep!

DC woman blogger wearing J.Crew 365 knit fit-and-flare dress in brilliant sapphire

J.Crew 365 knit fit-and-flare dress Brilliant Sapphire, XS

Fit wise, this dress was great. It’s true to size, the length was perfect, and it would be a great work dress.

Color wise, it lived up to its bright color on the website. Which, to be fair is why I originally wanted to try it on. But in person….who am I kidding, it’s just not me (though it would be cute layered under a black blazer).

Verdict: return

J.Crew 365 knit fit-and-flare dress in stripe, Navy Ivory, XS

The fit of this dress is pretty similar to the previous dress, aka true to size and dead on.

Since I love stripes and navy, I thought this would be a winner. But when I tried it on, I just wasn’t in love. I think it was just all too much. I think I did the wrong colors for both of these dresses.

Verdict: return

DC woman blogger wearing J.Crew Drapey tie-waist dress, Dark Ink

J.Crew Drapey tie-waist dress, Dark Ink, XS

This dress fit….ish? The tie waist makes it adjustable, obviously, but once I tied it, I realized something pretty entertaining: my chest isn’t big enough for this dress. Plus, because it’s too big, it leaves a weird lump/puff where I tie the dress. No good.

In terms of the fabric, I just don’t even know what to do with this dress. The fabric is more jersey than it appears on the website. But, it also looks kind of nice at the same time? It’s too nice for work, but not nice enough for other occasions? I just don’t know what i would do with it.

Verdict: return

DC woman blogger wearing J.Crew Going Out Blazer, Black

J.Crew Going Out Blazer, Black, Size 0

I’m torn. I’m really torn. I love this blazer. It fits well, the fabric is great, you can tell it’s really well made. BUT I don’t wear a blazer for work that often. I need it (or something similar to it) every once in a while and that’s it. But I’ve wanted to toss all of the other ones that I have that are 5 (or more) years old.

The other downside is the price. This blazer isn’t cheap and it’s not going on sale any time soon. However, if you compare it to any good quality blazer anywhere else…it could be worse. I just don’t know.

Verdict: I need thinking time.

DC woman blogger wearing J.Crew Margot Cropped Sweater Blazer, HTHR Khaki

J.Crew Margot Cropped Sweater Blazer, HTHR Khaki, XS

I tried on the regular version of this blazer in three different sizes and it was a fail. Three times. I was hoping they would make a petite version of this jacket, but they did me one even better: a cropped version. The perfect fit, but they chopped off the extra inches that I didn’t need.

I may or may not have also wait for more sales, combined it with rewards points and purchased the black and navy at extreme discounts as well. That’s how much I like this blazer.

Verdict: so much keep

DC woman blogger wearing J.Crew Structured peplum top in windowpane check

J.Crew Structured peplum top in windowpane check, Navy XS

I really should have heeded the warning when this top was fully in stock and on final sale.

It’s a plaid peplum, what could go wrong? Everything apparently. I don’t even know how to describe the fit of this top. It’s like the main body of the top was a large, but he shoulders were a small. BUT the opening of the sleeves (like the end of the sleeve) was an xxs. My arms were choking. I don’t even know what was happening.

Thank god J.Crew was nice enough to take back this top even though it said final sale.

Verdict: return

DC woman blogger wearing J.Crew Point Sur Ribbed Henly Bodysuit, Loden Green

J.Crew Point Sur Ribbed Henly Bodysuit, Loden Green, XS

I learned something very important from this body suit: when your body suit is made from a material known for stretching out (ribbed henly) don’t put it in a bodysuit and add buttons to it. The buttons actually weighted it down and started to dip the top if you leaned slightly forward. Um, no thank you.

On top of that, I just didn’t like the look of this bodysuit. I think I would rather just have this as a loose top.

Verdict: return

Guys, there are so many pieces from the fall styles at J.Crew and J.Crew Factory, but I’m going to have to stop here and do a part two for the J.Crew Factory items later. Get excited to see those soon!
