Ready for my secret confession?
I’m not really much of a Valentine’s Day person.
You know what I am into though? Chocolate and this top. Separate and together. This post has nothing to do with chocolate though (other than me eating it right now).
So instead, let’s talk about this top and other cute Valentine’s Day tops.

So let’s talk about Cute Valentine’s Day tops and the fact that I said you could style them for work. It seems like an oxymoron right? Well the trick here is that it’s all about balance. When I say cute tops, I’m not talk about tops that are cover in glitter and bright pink hearts. Those have their place and time and work is not it.
I’m talking about tops that are more understated (like what I’m wearing). Tops that give a subtle nod to Valentine’s Day (a sup in the form of the small heart) but you could really pull out at any time of the year. For instance, with the top I’m wearing, the main focus is actually that it’s a striped tee with conservative 3/4 sleeves. The heart is a small fun detail. I then pair it with two other pieces that I would frequently wear to work: my red skirt and ankle boots.
The nice thing about this outfit is that I could really pull off wearing it at any time of the year, but I can pretend I purposefully wore it for Valentine’s Day. Then those who love Valentine’s Day are happy that I’m not being a Debbie Downer, I don’t have to pretend it’s my favorite holiday of the year, and I can still enjoy all of the chocolate I want.
Everybody wins.
If you want to try this out for yourself, I’ve shared a few similar tops below that you can easily pair with other work appropriate pieces.
Now go off and enjoy your Valentine’s Day candy given to you by you for you, because you’re the best.
