Valentine’s Day is coming and I couldn’t be more excited…for the discounted chocolate! Just kidding. I think I’m like everyone at this point where I couldn’t be more excited for another excuse to celebrate something. I’ve never really been a Valentine’s Day person, but we need to celebrate basically everything at this point. So Valentine’s Day it is!
The good thing about celebrate is that it also means an excuse to plan a cute outfit for the day. Whether you’re going to outdoor dining, a virtual get together with friends, or staying in, you can still plan an outfit (and pick up a new piece or two).
Cute Outfits For Valentine’s Day
In honor of putting together a new outfit, I’ve pulled together a few of my favorite (and a few new) cute outfits for Valentine’s Day.
VDay Work Outfit
I think this is the first time in a while that Valentine’s Day hasn’t fallen on a weekday. But that doesn’t mean you can’t dress up for it a little bit on the Friday before. But how do you do that without going over the top? Simple, you go for small touches that signal Valentine’s Day, but you don’t go overboard. That could mean a red skirt or top or pieces with subtle heart designs. The Loft seems to be winning at pieces like this for Valentine’s Day this year.
Here are some great options.
My outfit is actually one from about two years ago, but this is why it’s a perfect work outfit for Valentine’s Day: I could wear it on any other day with no problem, but on Valentine’s Day, the little heart on the shirt and the pops of red give perfect Valentine’s Day signals.
All outfit pieces old, but here are similar options:
Top: Great option from Talbots with wider stripes, gray sweater but has the red heart, short sleeve top, looser long sleeve
Skirt: Pencil cut in deep coral, Similar Eyelet, Very Similar in blue, Similar in pink
Shoes: Very Similar, Similar in suede, similar option
Virtual or In Person Galentine’s Date Outfit
I know we’re all over staring at our screens, but let me remind you about the winning part about virtual dates: you can wear sweatpants and no one will know. The other good part about it? You can have a Galentine’s Date with one of your friend’s from across the country…or the city. It’s really a win for all of the lazy people out there.
What I love about the look I put together is that first, it can work for an in-person or virtual Galentine’s Date. Second, it reuses the top from your work look! All I did was switch out the skirt for jeans and the booties for red flats (I needed that extra pop of color!).
Now, there were a few accessories I forgot to add or would change depending on the circumstances. For a virtual look, I would have added some fun earrings, probably something big and dangly. Potentially like these bow earrings. I think they would be fun and add an extra little pop to the look.
If I was going out with this look, I would probably add a sweater (maybe this rose sweater blazer I’ve been drooling over) and if I’m in a cold location, sub out my flats for ankle boots. But at home, I’m all about wearing my flats as much as I can.
Don’t forget the lipstick either way! (This one is my favorite, it even smells good! When did I become a lipstick person?)
Here are some great options for cute Valentine’s Day tops and flats:
Definitely include one of the following: photos for each outfit, a widget to showcase all of the items you mention at the end or include a widget for each outfit idea. Try to include outfit ideas for different times of the day as well as outfit ideas for casual dates, formal dinners, virtual parties, etc.
Date Night at Home Outfit
Finally, the date night at home. Normally for a date night, I would suggest a cute outfit and something a little formal. But let’s get real here. We’re all tired and a date night at home at this point will probably involve the involve the couch. So I think it’s fair to say that the theme for Valentine’s Day Date Night this year is cute sweatpants and sweatshirts. The best part of this outfit? (Besides being super comfortable.) This is the year of cute sweats!
Even better, the only accessories you need for this date are your fuzziest slippers.
Here are some of the best cozy clothes I’ve found around the web for your date night at home.
Did I cover all of the cute outfits for Valentine’s Day that you need? Is there another outfit you need me to cover? If so, just let me know in the comments. In the meantime, I’m going to cuddle with the newest love of my life, my dog.
