I go through phases when it comes to the sweatshirt category. For a while, it was zip-ups only. Then, hoodies, and nothing but hoodies. Then I avoided the conventional sweatshirts an only went for the more “activewear” type sweatshirt (or pullover). My latest love now? The crewneck sweatshirt. It really started last fall when I scored my J.Crew “Amour” sweatshirt and kind of blew up from there.
My current collection of crewneck sweatshirts isn’t huge, but I love it. Let’s dive into my sweatshirts and how I wear them.

My Favorite Crewneck Sweatshirts
Remember when I talked about my weekend uniform? Sweatshirts are a huge part of them.
How I Style Them
I know I could attempt to be cool and dress my sweatshirts up, but let’s be honest, I keep all of my outfits casual in this case.
Jeans
Of course my go-to is jeans! It’s really my go to most of the time, let’s be honest. My favorite are my ripped Old Navy jeans (like the ones in this picture). But I also love my Madewell denim.
Shorts
Now let’s talk shorts, but we’ll skip over jean shorts because we just talked about denim. We can just assume they’re a given.
In this case, I’m thinking about a more tailored shorts. I love how tailored shorts look with a pullover. Why? It gives the illusion of a more pulled together look. Especially if you pair it with a cute pair of tennis shoes (think Keds). It’s perfect for cooler summer nights.
Shoes
Flats! All the time flats. Seriously. I told you that I was going for full comfort here. If I’m not wearing a cute pair of sneakers, I’ll go for something like my Day Gloves. Once it gets warmer though, I’m 100% ready to pull out my sandals.
How Do I Find and Pick My Crewneck Sweatshirts?
How I Find Them
The trick is….there is no trick. Or rhyme or reason. Sometimes I see them on other people, sometimes I find them when I’m browsing my favorite websites. I’m going to make it a little easier for you though and I’ve picked out some of my favorites below.
How I Pick Them
Okay, there’s a little more thinking that goes into this process. First, I want a sweatshirt that’s a little more fitted. I’m not going for the Ariana Grande dress-style sweatshirt. No, thank you. Give me a fitted sweatshirt please. Second, I want a fun graphic, but I don’t want a print that takes over the whole top. I prefer something that either covers the front or is a cute little corner symbol. Finally, make it cozy and comfortable! But that should be a requirement of any sweatshirt, right?
