Alright guys, it’s time to get going and start talking about holiday outfits. I know some people don’t even want to talk about it, but I already warmed you up last week with the holiday savings series, so I think it’s safe to say we’ve broken the ice. I’ll ease you into it though, don’t worry. The first outfit we’re talking about today is for your Friendsgiving get together. More specifically, a casual friendsgiving outfit.

Casual Friendsgiving
I don’t need to explain what a friendsgiving is right? Well, I guess I can at least describe a casual Friendsgiving. For a casual friendsgiving, it’s most likely at a friend’s house or apartment (a laid back environment). Odds are that it’ll be a potluck and served buffet style. You may all sit at a table, it may just be sit wherever. Kind of choose your own adventure.
Now, don’t get me wrong, your friend planned this, but it’s also more about the friends getting together and eating a lot than the pomp and circumstance.
A Casual Friendsgiving Outfit Breakdown
So with everything mentioned above in mind, what should you wear? Let’s break it down.
Comfort Level
Your comfort level should be high in this situation. I don’t mean sweatpants high, but jeans are definitely okay. So is a nice sweater. Remember that you’ll probably be stuffing your face, so stretchy jeans are preferable to super tight ones.
Mobility
Why would you want to be mobile in your outfit? Well, for these events you may be pulled into helping, so you want to be able to easily move around, lift up those serving dishes, and carry them around. Also, remember how earlier I mentioned that you don’t know where you’ll be sitting? That’s where this comes in. If it’s sit wherever your can find a seat, your options are going to be very limited if you’re in your shortest, tightest skirt.
Shoes
Think about everything I just said above. Comfort, mobility, factor in November weather in your city, and the options really write themselves. Flats, low ankle boots, flat boots in general. You get the idea.
If you’re in a person’s home, they may also ask you to take off your shoes (their own house rules). With that in mind, all of the options above are also options where it’s easy to take your shoes off quickly if need be.
My Casual Friendsgiving Outfit
For my casual Friendsgiving outfit, I took all of the above into consideration, and pulled together some old and new pieces. This bow sweater from last winter was a favorite and is a fun way to add a little flair to this outfit.
I was debating just doing regular blue jeans, but I love how adding colored jeans takes this look from super casual to a little nicer.
