Styling a Sparkly Holiday Skirt

I was a little nervous to pair a plaid skirt with a sparkly holiday skirt to be honest. Like I said, I came around to the idea later, but this was definitely out of my comfort zone. Skirts for work? Definitely. Plaid shirts with jeans? Always. Together? Um, WHAT?
But the combination?
Pure holiday glee! Both of the pieces screamed holiday season and did a perfect job of playing off of each other. The skirt made me look dressed up. But the plaid shirt made it clear that this event was still a fun, relaxed event. So if anyone showed up in a casual outfit, they still felt totally comfortable. I was just the host who was dressed up.

Other ways to style it

While I love this look, it’s a bit much for my office. To let the skirt shine, but not over do it, I paired it with a plain black long sleeve top. I also wore black tights and black boots. I chose riding boots, but black booties would also work as well!
What do you think? How would you style a sparkly holiday skirt?
