It’s a little weird writing this post a full week before the month ends, but it’s the last day of the month, so let’s roll with it. This month has been a month of minimal shopping and maximum deals. Also, a lot of returning. For the first time in a while, I’ve done a lot of shopping at Loft. It’s been sadly met with a lot of returns, but I’ve had fun finding new pieces there and actually walking away with a few good pieces.
I also love that J.Crew Factory has brought back a lot of my favorite pieces from last year (in both the same and new colors). I was able to pick up my favorite block heeled sandals in gold. But more importantly, let’s talk about the deals I’ve gotten. It really was a lesson in always trying to pile on coupons, rewards, and gift cards. That was how I managed to get TWO of the J.Crew sweater blazers for the price of one, a $40 jean jacket for $4, and a $30 sweatshirt for $7. Always try to layer discounts people! You never know when it’ll work out in your favor.
Finally, let’s talk about the closet makeover of it all. I really wasn’t kidding when I said that having a cleaner closet makes me shop less. Now that I know what’s in there, I know where gaps are (and aren’t!). It means that it’s easier to stop myself from shopping because it’s easier for me to know if I already own something super similar. Plus, I also realize that I’ve basically reached capacity with my shoes, so if I want to add more, I’m going to have to start getting rid of more shoes. Ditto with sweaters. And a few other things. If that’s not motivation to save my money and calm down my shopping a bit, I don’t know what would be.
How did your month go? What did you buy (or not buy) this month?
