I’m back with a holiday romance review! The weather is chilly, so it’s a perfect time to start picking up the holiday books.
A Very Merry Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams
TWO SENTENCE SUMMARY
The Bromance Book Club is back with the fifth book in the series and we finally get to read about the Country Music Star, Colton Wheeler (anyone else feel like we’ve been waiting for forever to read his book?). When we last saw Colton, he was fresh off of a one night stand with Gretchen Winthrop. But now it’s been a while and not only is he still thinking about Gretchen Winthrop, but his music seems to be stalling too. Luckily, Gretchen realizes that she may have an offer for Colton that he can’t refuse.
WHAT I LIKED MOST AND WHAT FRUSTRATED ME
What I liked most about this book was that it gave us a chance to not only finally hear about Colton, but to learn more about Gretchen! As you might remember, Gretchen first appeared in book two as another failed relationship of Mack’s. They didn’t dive into her as much, but since she kept reappearing, I just wanted to learn more about her. It was such a relief when she appeared in this book and we got to learn more about her amazing charitable side.
What frustrated me the most while I was reading this book was going back to the grump and the sunshine hero trope. It’s not my favorite trope, and it’s a little hard when you think one character has a stick up their butt but I enjoyed Colton and Gretchen so much by the end, that I can definitely forgive it.
RECOMMENDED FOR
Anyone who needs a holiday read and/or a fun, contemporary romance, this book is for you.
STAR RATING
4 out of 5 stars and I had to knock off a star because no one enjoys a grump
