Yup, that’s right, everything here was actually bought in November. I got almost all of this during Black Friday/Cyber Monday, but since I didn’t receive most of it until December, it became part of the December 2016 Budget. After my little spending spree on Cyber Monday though, I decided that it was time for a shopping freeze.
Since I was trying to not buy clothes, I used this time to sell clothes. I did a mini sale on Instagram stories and I started adding more pieces to my poshmark shop. This wasn’t my best selling month (I started a little late listing things), but I still have a handful of other pieces I’m going to keep posting.
What I have to decide now is if I want to carry my freeze into January or not. I have a few items that I’ve been waiting to pick up, so I might do that and then go on the freeze. But I don’t know yet.
Are you doing a spending freeze in January? I feel like a lot of people do after the holidays, so let me know if you are (and if you have any tips for avoiding the urge to spend)!

Oh yeah, this is what is happening for what I did for Boxing Day. I won’t get my stuff until January. 🙂
I semi like it, but then I’m like, “ummm it’s not even January and I’ve already spent part of my January budget! Oh no!”
I feel like Poshmark sales slow down in November/December because the in-store deals are so good. I don’t think those are ever my best months for sales!
That’s so good to know! This has really been my first year diving into poshmark so I wasn’t sure. If you wouldn’t mind sharing, what months have you had more luck?
Looking back at my $ sales on Poshmark in 2016, February and April were good months for me! I think it has a lot to do with keeping 10+ items in your closet for sale (give people something to bundle and browse), and keeping things seasonal. I’ve found that people lose weight from resolutions and need clothes, and then seasonal changes too.
I wrote an entire blog post on selling things on Poshmark, it’s in my sidebar. I think I’ve made over $3K in the past few years selling old stuff. I keep a bin of things I’m selling next to packaging stuff so I can just package it up and ship it out!
Got it, that’s a good idea! I’ll check out your post and start planning to push for February!
I had the same thing – my Cyber Monday buys didn’t arrive until December. I have a few things I bought in the post-Christmas sales that haven’t arrived yet so I don’t know if I’ll keep them all but I included them in my wrap up post as I’m not going to be shopping in January.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and you have a happy new year 🙂

Ah okay, I’m always curious about how other people choose to include or not include purchases that haven’t arrived.
