Getting back from vacation on a Saturday night was the best and worst idea that I could have had. It was the best because I had all of Sunday to relax and ease myself back into my daily routine. But it was also the worst because it felt like I was cutting my vacation a half a day short.
Either way, I’m here and back at it, ready to talk about other things, like this plaid mini skirt and wondering if fall weather is ever going to happen.

As I joked about in my instagram post the other night, I don’t think DC actually knows that it’s fall yet.
In fact, the few colorful trees in this picture were some of the only trees that I’ve seen change color in DC. We weren’t even bothering to look for them at the time. We figured that if we were going to find any, it wouldn’t be until November, so looking now would be pointless.
I actually think I got my biggest taste of fall while I was in Santa Fe this past weekend where the entire city was covered in beautiful orange, red, and yellow leaves. Santa Fe people. The desert has more fall than the Mid-Atlantic (cue eye roll emoji right now).
My plaid clothes are dying to break out of my closet.
I’ve decided there’s not reason to hold them back anymore, so out they go! This plaid mini skirt is the first to emerge, but I’m ready to bring out the tops and shoes as well. The scarves may have to wait a little longer though. I’m not crazy enough to risk heat stroke just so I can wear fall clothes.
Anyone else miss wearing fall clothes or is it chilly enough where you are to wear them?
