It’s finally spring weather and this weekend was actually beautiful! In honor of that, I decided to break my black and white outfits streak and bust out a little neon. Also, I feel like I haven’t been giving my chambrays enough love lately, so they may become a spring essential for me.
I’ve been doing a lot of tidying and tossing in my closet lately (I’ve been reading The Art of Tidying to inspire me) and it’s really made a difference in what I’m decided to keep and sell. I had done a clean out a few weeks ago, but there were still a few items in my closet that I hadn’t gotten in rid of. Thanks to the idea of holding and individual item and thinking “does this bring me joy?” has made it a lot easier to part with clothing. Just because it gave me joy at one point doesn’t mean it does any more.
Also, not going to lie, I really like seeing all of the empty hangers I’m accumulating because the piece they were holding is getting donated. It makes me feel a little more accomplished.

Hi ! I am new to your blog, found it through the link up. Love the bright colors, the pink and the yellow, 2 fav colors.

What a bright, fun outfit! I love the pink and yellow together, and the chambray shirt is a great finishing touch.

Thanks for visiting! I'm glad you liked the outfit and I'll happily join up for the link up 🙂
Thanks Anna! I normally wouldn't have done this combo, but I loved it so much I think I'm going to need to do it again! 😀
Thanks!
Love the brights with the chambray! That's a perfect option for balancing brighter colors in my opinion. I'm feeling the need for a good closet clean out too and am hopeful I'll get to a little bit of that this weekend!
Chambray tucked into skirts is one of my favorite things… and how fun is it with a skirt in this great of a color?! I'm with you on that closet clean out thing – I always thought it felt good to purge the closet, but then when I realized how much deeper I could really go and really slim down the number of items, I felt so refreshed and accomplished. Love this "joy" criterion though – I like that it absolves some of the guilt of thinking "well, I thought I loved this so I bought it, but I've barely worn it, so I feel bad getting rid of it…" Let it go!
I'm glad you liked it! Chambray is always my favorite for my brightly colored/patterned skirts. Good luck with the closet clean out this weekend!
Glad you liked it!
I'm right there with you, it's made it easier to decide between keeping and tossing things. Hopefully I can continue to slim down my wardrobe (though between Loft Friends and Family sale and the new arrivals at J.Crew Factory, it'll be rough)
Oh I absolutely love this!! The bright skirt with chambray is perfection itself, but then the added pop of pink heels just makes it even better!! I did a big closet clean out last year and have been working with a more minimal closet ever since–I thought I would hate having fewer options but it turns out I LOVE it. I can actually SEE all of my clothes, it's miraculous! 🙂
I'm glad you liked it! I'm feeling the same way about fewer options, it's pretty nice.
